It's the same on both sides! The Dems did the same thing to the Reps when Clinton was in office. The last several years have jsut been teh Reps doing to the Dems what they did to them. It goes back and forth over and over.

Look, I'm just a poor dumb trash hauler from the outkirts of Philly. So I don't know thw answer to this question. But a few guys at the hauling compnay were talking asking about "what has dem Democrats done for us African Americans since dey was last in office?" I know Clinton opened an office in harlem, for some strange reaon. But I didn't see any liquor stores or gun shops closing in Compton, Harlem, Detroit, Camden, and many other places.

^ well thats not gonna change no matter what party is in office- the rich are gonna get richer, and the poor poorer- soon the middle class will vanish if things dont change.. To relate it to sports, the giants/jets new stadium will cost like 1.3 billion i believe, well theres gonna be 235 (aprox) suites which will cost .5 -1 million a yr to rent for lobbyists and corporations..Eventhough theres a 30 yr waiting list as is, these suites will make it even harder to get tickets for middle class fans. Our country is turning completely corporate and the working man is rewarded less and less. The dems and reps are both too closely tied in with corporations, which in my mind should be illegal or atleast monitored..its a complete conflict of interest and results in corruption. same thing with the military industrial complex and our govt. Our government is supposed to govern and get a salary, not make $ off corporations that can be linked with the decisions they make.

This is the problem and you can apply it to any demographic and either party. Our country has turned into a bunch of warring factions lobbying for the most loot that has been taken by force by the government. Indians want and get a government imposed monopoly on gambling in my area, along with government subsidies or benefits making it difficult for other businesses to compete with them. Same with medicare, medicaid, welfare, social security. Is it a coincidence that the health care industry is one of the most unaffordable and it is one of the most regulated and the solution according to many bureaucrats is to regulate it more - genius!!

So let's be like Canada and have a government paid health care system. Everything that can harm you, like alcohol and cigarettes, will cost 200% more. I like that idea.

How does a waiting list on the suites make it tougher for the middle class fans to get seats? My best friend has been a season ticket holder to the Eagles for over 15 years. When they opened the new Linc a few years ago, he got season tickets.

I think he's saying that there will be more suites and less regular seating, Therefore making the number of available seats available to the public scarce.

Health care is not a "right", government paid health care can be legal but then again so can slavery and was at one time. Government paid health care is a degree of enslavement justified by the "need" of others.
I think government is so wrapped up in health care it will just be a matter of time before health care is so messed up that we will have to go with a universal health care progarm or with radical reform and since the media and dems would associate radical reform with the end of the world, trying to scare the $hit out of everyone, we'll probably go with universal health care first.

I agree! The reason why our health care is so expensive is two reasons, one the drug companies are paying out the ass to get FDA approval, so we pay more for meds....and two, there needs to be tighter regulations on doctors. The reason we pay so much in health care costs is because doctors have to charge a ton of money to cover their E&O insurance. The average doctor pays like $100k a year in E&O insurance. Why do you think that is? Because they get sued too much. Why do you think that is? Because they screw up too much. Over 280k people ever year die in this country due to mal-practice. 280k? What the phuk did they learn in medical school? Obviously not enough! 280k! Just think about that, over a quarter of a million people die due to mal-practice. That's the number one reason why our medical costs are so high. And, I hate to say it, but it's only going to get worse. With all these drugs coming out that just more and more chances for people to sue. And....lol....the strangest part of all....the part that just eludes everything logical in my mind....why doesn't the FDA ever get sued? Who can tell me that one? It's their job to research these drugs and make sure they are safe and yet when they turn out to be not safe, the drug company get's sued. Huh...how exactly does the FDA dodge that bullet, every phukin time? Oh yeah, I forgot, that multi billion dollar settlement just made our drug costs go up another 20%. Yeah! Phuking FDA! If those bastards would actually do their job right, there would be less harmful drugs on the market and there would be less law suits and their would be lower drug costs. It's not rocket science. However, maybe the FDA needs to hire people from NASA. If they can get a man on the moon, they can make sure teh drugs are safer than the FDA can. lol

The Government would lose too much money under a controlled healthcare system. Right now, they make About $50,000,000,000 in taxes on tobacco alone. The add in alcohol, and it's doubled. If they raise the cost of things bad for you, people will quit smoking and drinking. They would eventually lose money in the long run.

They should not raise the price of things to stop people from taking things that are bad for them. That is infringing on people's rights! Government has no place raising the price of things to force or coerce people into doing something. That is what a dictatorship does!
I am a strong believer in people having the right to do as they please, so long as it doesn't infringe upon the rights of others. Banning smoking in public buildings I agree with because it was infringing on the rights of non-smokers. But raising prices just to force someone to do something is plain wrong. That's why it's called freedom. They have the right to damage their own body if they want to, so long as they are properly warned of the consequences of what they are taken.
Freedom is having the ability to choose your own path. Whomever doesn't like that right should go live in a dictatorship where you don't have that right!

You see, that's where you are incorrect my friend. Those people that drink and smoke are the reason that your and my health insurance and car insurance are so high. Smokers cause insurance companies big money so they divide that up amonst all of us. Exessive drinkers are a double whammy because they too contribute to our higher health insurance and because of all the dui's, they contribute to our car insurance. So, whether you think it's a dictatorship or not doesn't change the fact that we (me and you) have to pay for their choices. That's taking away my rights! Why should a healthy non-smoking, non-drinking man in his mid 30's have to pick up part of the tab for the not so responsbile people? They just keep on smoking and drinking and cost health insurance companies billions of dollars a year which we (me and you) pay for. That's how insurance works, they have bean counters who know exactly how many people out of every million clients will slip and hit their head in the shower, and they divide that cost amongst everyone. They know exactly how many people out of every million that will cause them hundreds of thousands of dollars in lung surgeries and what not, and divide that cost up amongst everyone. Now, you think the government shouldn't raise the taxes and that's fine, that's your opinon, but I think they should so I can get more affordable health care and car insurance. If there is anything that is NOT fair, it's me and you paying out of our own phukin pockets for the decsions of others. But, if you think we should, then that your opinion bor and I respect it, but as for me, I think it's total BS that I have to pay the premiums I do because of others actions. IMO, it smoking and drinking was so expensive that it forced people to be more responsible with it, out costs would go down. I personally think that is a good thing, but that's just my opinion.

not their right when i have to pay there insurance premiums because they are to poor to have there own,but yet have money to buy ciggaretts How many of these duesch bags are on medicaid and welfare which i fund, yet have money to drink and smoke! They can stick those freedoms up there A S S because it harms far more people then them

Oh hell, I didn't even think about that whole class of people. The ones who I have to pay their utilites for them, or their grocery bill, or whatever, but they can afford to buy cigs and alcohol. That's bull$hit!
I'm glad you brought that up pigmeat! That just adds to the reasons why that stuff should be higher.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.
Well it's not right that non smokers or non drinkiers get penalized for the ones that do. Only their premiums should go up because that is not an accident or genetic accident. That is self inflicted and therefore should increase the price of only their insurance rates.
If that's what your grips TRULY is, then you should be in favor of having government change the laws to force insurance companies to raise the rates of people who do self inflicted harm ie..smoking, heavy drinking, drugs. That would then solve the problem, while not infringing on the rights of others.
You need to steer away from this ideal that government should keep raising prices on things on a general consensus. It's things like that which make this country more in the hands of government, and less in the hands of the people!
Also you don't pay higher insurance premiums because of the welfare cases and such. Those are paid for by the government so it's your tax dollars paying that. And if it's your tax dollars your truly worried about, maybe you should look into the millions of other things the government foolishly spends it's money on, before you start complaining about the unfortunate people it helps.
Also insurance companies make HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE profits. If your truly concerned about your premium why don't you take up your frustrations with the government that constantly allows these companies to rape your pocket book? It's a lost cause because insurance companies pay for politicians campaigns and in return they turn their heads the other way when it's time to pass bills to help american citizens.
