For what it's worth. I read through this thread fast but I didn't see anyone say anything about us being attacked and 3,000 people murdered. That Iraq has weapons that may be used by someone else to attack us again is all the more reason that we should disarm them by any means. Although I am most likely too old to go to war at this time , I'm a parent with two children. They may have to go to war at some time , my sacrifice for living in this great country. I would not want them to be harmed by terrorists simply because they have the privilege of living here. That I am able to sit here and write this is incredible. Although we all have different opinions, as Americans we should all support our country and those who defend it in our name.

Couldn't agree more Morgan. It's hard to beleive that people don't clearly see that when our enemies saw the footage of 9-11 that they all thought "Now I see how to hurt the Americans". If some people want to risk the lives of their family members on the morality of dictators and terrorists who have flat out said they want Americans to die, that's they're business - but they have a ridiculous amount of arrogance for thinking that they should tell me to risk the lives of my family.Originally posted by Morgan

Another thing that blows me away is when people use Iraqi citizens to try and make a case against war by saying.....a lot of Iraqis will die in the war. 1st of all....can they show me ONE IRAQI CITIZEN who has escaped Iraq who beleives that Saddam should be left in power and 2nd.....we are the ones who do NOT target civilians......REMEMBER?
Or when people ask.....who does the US think they are by telling other countries what kind of government they should have? Do they actually think that people in a country ruled by a dictator CHOSE their form of government?

Say what!? You need a history lesson bro. I have tried to just let this thread die. I am not anti-america, and I am NOT anti Iraqi war. I think people just need to keep things in perspective (as I have said befor). I support our military, contrary to what most of you probably think about me.Originally posted by grimek

Civilian Causualties on Sept. 11th, *3,173* a lot of innocent people killed indeed.
Civilian Casualties in the Heroshima blast, an estimated *150,000* innocent people.
Civilian Casualties in the Nagasaki blast, an estimated *200,000* innocent men, women, and children.
Now - tell me that the US does not target civilians...The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.

We don't target civilians. They are a casualty of war. You are ignorant as hell.

Oh come on bros, lets not be belligerant to one another!! Everyone has an opinion and this is a very sore topic right now!! There are certain aspects of everyone's point of view that has validity. Name calling is not very becoming. It reflects immaturity.Originally posted by TheGame1976

The difference is that we were at war with Japan when we dropped those bombs. You're implying that we just one day, because we don't like wasabi or something, just incenerated a bunch of innocents. Being blindsided during a time of peace can't be the same in your mind as using overwhelming force to convince the enemy to surrender in war......can it?
I know you're not anti-American but if you were.....what more distorted view of history could you have to confuse these two examples as being the same?

I believe Goliaths' analogy would be incorrect for the simple reason that Japan's population supported a declared war against the United States and Britian. That would make anyone living in the country a legitimate target in war. I don't believe we've declared war - yet we were attacked. So be sure that you are makin the best of what that you have
the truth is all within yourself
