Re: Kramer's remarks the other day

Black comics do the same thing all the time. Im not saying what he did was right. I think its sorry that he has to get on TV to say hes sorry. Every black comic i have ever seen has made white jokes. I think America is in a sad state of affairs when it comes to being PC and the double standards people are forced to live by. Im not trying to start a arguement about race here but thats how i look at it. A black guy calls a white guy a cracker or a honkey no one cares. The other way around its on TV how that person is a racist.I know the following has nothing to do with the topic but i think it would help my side of this. How come when a white person is proud to be white hes a racist. But when a black guy says hes proud to be black hes not. I could go off on a wild hair here so im gonna stop. Flame me if you like but its how i feel.

If people are honest they would admit that a lot of what you say has some truth to it. Its a complicated situation.

I have never seen a black comic or ANY comic use the word nigger in the way he did.

There is a difference. I can call a black person a nigga if they are my friend or I know them well. But when you call someone a NIGGER in the way and tone he did it's wrong. He even mentioned lynching the guy. Way above and beyond what would be considered okay.

He said 50 years ago we'd have your ass upside down with a fork in you. You can talk, you can talk. Your brave now mother f'er. Throw his ass out. He's a nigger. He's a nigger. Look, he's a nigger.

Etc. WAY above comedy here IMo.

white people wont stand up like they did in the comic club and start a big mess about it. If they were to they would be the racist. Im not trying to start a race fight here. Im just saying there is a double standered to where white people put up with shit because of what our great great grand fathers did. I myself dont have a problem with black people. Im just saying that if he was black and screaming HONKEY HONKEY HONKEY it wouldnt have turned into this

The only reason why we get persecuted by people for making a racist joke is because "we" are the ones who have the bad history of holding people in bondage. I also dont think its right for anyone to do it, at least not in public for crying out loud.

Re: Kramer's remarks the other day

I agree that there is a double standard when it comes to black and white comedians as far as how far one can push the limits while using race in one's routine. I remember Chris Rock performing stand up on OJ Simpson entitled 'But I understand' or something to that effect, justifying (in a comical, nevertheless very distasteful way) OJ's slaughtering of the two victims. If Chris Rock were white and the two victims black, there's no way his career would've survived. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would've been all over it.

That being said, there's no way to justify Mark Richard's racist tirade. He was spouting venomous hate that was not part of his routine. His true inner feelings erupted and he couldn't keep it inside any longer. He deserves to be shunned by fans and the media alike. I don't think he cares though because he's already a multi-millionaire.

What he said was NOT in a joking manner. He was pissed off b/c they were talking during his whole set. White people can make black jokes just like blacks can make fun of us. What, and how it was said, was not a joke.

Yeah bro, I guess. Maybe he didnt have his valium that day or something. Either way its nothing for me to think too much on. People get mad and some say things out loud and some dont but what is said in the heat of the moment like that cant be takin too seriously. One things for sure, it got him new press coverage huh. Got his face back in the light. Publicity bro. Oh well, life goes on.

That's NOT the type of press he or anyone would EVER want. Hollywood types would never want to be portrayed as a racist in order to get back into the spotlight.

If he wanted to do something outrageous to get his name back in the light, he oughtta just made a sex tape with Elaine (she could use the pub also) or George for that matter.

Seems to work for everyone else. LoL
