Do you have any pets Fit?? Some ppl are just not prevy to animals. If you do, you prob would know that they have feelings by positive and negative effects in their behaviors when given certain tests in response. I have had several pets that have lost their mates and i have noticed dispondent radical behavior changes for their loss. Iam talking of the animals becomming depressed, not eating, lack of response. Then if i get them another mate, it takes them time for them to develop a relationship, but when they do all the negative behaviors change and they become back to their normal routines. I have found this to be true in any specie of animal. Their are many cultures that have the belief that animals have souls, even the Egyptians believed this thousands of yrs ago. Even the late Jane Goodall described this when examining apes in their natural habitats. To say it is funny for someone to say amimals have souls does not suprise me, as many ppl, even with pets presume them as a lower class, without feeling, sadness, or love. Of course you have to be an animal lover to know this. I have seen it and observed it with animals i have had and the ones i have now. I think alot of it also has to do with the way you were brought up. Not that it means much to ppl not of the Catholic faith, but they have now even acknowledged it in their doctrine. I believe there is some chapters in the Bible that refer to it as well. As far as your question: "Where do animals go after death"...Heaven is my answer. One could also laugh about were ppl go after death. No one really knows for fact until we meet our maker.

Well said.... Here's a great example of what you're talking about mick. My one cat Haze is very affectionate. When I leave the house he gets depressed and sits in the corner. Even when my wife gets home he won't budge. But as soon as I get home he comes out and tries to provoke me to play with him. It's not that he wants food or anything. My wife is the one that feeds them, I've only fed them maybe 3 times in 3 years. We don't feed them table scraps so its not that. It is the fact that he wants affection and wants attention. If animals don't have feelings then why would he want affection?? Also when he's bad and I yell at him he'll put his ears back and go in the corner. When he's done pouting he'll come up to me looking for forgiveness. and will literally follow me from room to room till I forgive him.

My other cat waits at my door in the morning till I wake up. When I come out she always comes to where I'm sitting and rubs up against me and yells at me until I acknowledge her and pet her a few times. She also warns us of trouble, and has many times got my wifes attention when I locked myself out of the house. She'll stand at the door and scream until my wife comes to let me in. These are not the actions of animals with no feelings!

Lastly, I watch both of my cats take care of each other. Sometimes they are in a playful mood and play with each other. Sometimes one screws with the other to be spiteful. Then my favorite everytime the girl cat pisses me off and I yell at her, the male cat runs and tackles her and literally mounts her to be like, "***** you piss him off and this is what you get"! It's quite funny if you ask me. They definetely have personalities and thoughts.

Oh yeah and the girl cat is scared of the ice cream truck. That one makes everyone laugh when they see it!

Now along your line of thinking fit, if they don't have thoughts or feelings what is the response to all of that?? Mere coincidence? If correctly analyzed one should interpret that they have feelings..

so you feel guilty when you're chowing down on that chicken, and think, where is this chicken's soul now? what about the filet mignon steak, mmm delicious, wonder were the soul is...

to many, having a soul is having breath, breath that was given by god to create live. so everything living has a soul, rats, bears, deers, ****roaches, i mean, these are all gods creations. are they not? so why dont we feel bad when we step on that living breathing ****roach? and as we pull the fatty skin of chicken before we broil or grill it, are you think, this chickens poor soul ? like tman said above, god have us all the animals of the land and sea to use as food. there's no exclusion of subset of animals. no doubt, animals are smart and intelligent. but their intelligence is geared towards survival. surviving the food chain.

i guess you can argue that all living things have souls. so again, the question is, why do some souls matter more than others. we're accepting of some, but not others.

tomorrow AM when im making eggwhites im gonna think, damn the soul that could have been this egg when it turned into a chicken. then the turkey i eat for lunch, will that soul come haunt me?

im not discrediting animal intelligents at all. so do we now say, all dumb animals we can kill and not the smarter ones?

in china, cats are skinned for their fur. in america, we skin chinchilas for their fur. so a cats soul is more important than a chinchila?

ive had pets, plenty of them. i worked in a pet store for 4 years during college. I call out dog breeds withing seconds of seeing them. i am a animal lover. i just think its hipocritical to say its ok to slaughter cows and chickens, but not dolphins. if they all have souls, maybe we should kill any of them!! this is one of those never ending discussions.

It's not the fact of eating animals or killing them to eat them thats bad. It's how it's done. There's many other ways to kill something that wouldn't be so freaking verocious, and vulgar.

And actually yes I have to imagine that what I'm eating is not a living thing because otherwise I do feel bad. Might be stupid, but I love animals and don't think it's cool how their killed. I eat them because I need to survive. But I don't agree with their process.

Also last time I checked your eggs are not even developed to the stage where they have a brain, so I highly doubt they had feelings their to realize what happened.

I guess the perfect answer to your post fit is their are people that know what empathy means, and have empathy. And there are those that don't. Obviously those that feel bad for these animals have empathy. Those that don't will learn it someday.

so you would support the slaughter of dolphins if it were done in a more 'humane' way?

hahah two funny posts by fit.. this might kill my fuking apetite for sure.

I don't know but muslims kill their cows, sheeps or w/e by their islamic laws and thats how they slaughter them.. they like even send some prayers or something.. and then kill them.. HALAL MEAT thats what I heard.

Also, most farm animals in the USA are on some growth hormones for sure.. thats why chicken grows big overnight and is ready for kill the next morning.. this type of meat is unhealthy and just filthy..even cows and everything else.. thats why in Europe vegetables and farm animals everything is just pure and natural..thats why their people are slim, look better and live healthier..

we say humanity ..then why those bastards behead people so easily, cut their heads off and celebrate.. god is punishing this world so bad its not even funny.

some asian countries are really losing it.. i saw a vid in china they eat dogs..german sheppards.. so when they wanna kill it they grab them for their lower legs and slam their head againts a curb... totally sick..

                                Re: Dolphin Massacre ***EXTREMELY GRAPHIC***

Well...lol you ask a series of complex questions. I believe everything has a soul. How complex that soul is, is not quite determined. I myself limit myself to meat, and try to eat all organic product that is kept on free range farms. I do think sometimes about what iam doing, but it would be untrue to say that i don't either. I believe we are all sinners, wheather we do it intentionally or not makes a difference. I wouldn't sweat eating egg whites, lol! I just try to do the best i can for the environment. I eat of living things, yes...but i eat what i need to live and no more. My wife is vegan, and we don't eat at any establishment that supports cruelty to animals or uses inhumane practices or buys from distributors that do. Sure we could prob do more, but at least we are trying to do our part. I totally disagree with what your are trying to say reffering to T-man. God gave us rain over animals, but not to exploit and use at our will only for profit. Yes, animals are geared to survival in the wild, but if you have had animals and observed their behaviors you would know what i was talking about above. Like i said, there are ppl that are prevy to animals and there are ones that aren't. I think that if at least some ppl try to put forth some effort into really doing something, things can change. It is easy to talk the talk, but in actually taking action is what really matters. So, you don't believe animals have souls?? What faith are you may i ask?? Reason i ask is because most if not all religions believe animals have souls. Just because you eat meat or chicken etc doesn't justify the killing of animals in this manner.
