Look, If we can grow an animal then we can humanely kill it and eat it. We grow cows, sheep, pigs, chickens... No problem. We grow salmon, tuna, snapper and others... get ready for seafood salad.

We cannot, however, grow dolphins.

Also, any one who knows how cows are killed on the way to slaughter knows that it is instant and as painless/fear free as it can be.

What I saw in that video was not painless or fear free. What I saw in that video was... reason to get angry.

OK, my take: as an animal freak i believe animals have souls. You are assuming once again that your religion is the one true one and no other school of thought is right corect?And if you're going by the Holy Bible school of thought there is no heaven yet because there has been no final judgement yet and no second coming yet and therefore everyone who has died is strictly wormfood at the moment correct? I believe heaven is a state of mind myself and therefore animals have their place there. Man obviously has the right to eat animals but you look at chickens and cows and what is the intelligence there? They are basically here as food. You look at dolphins and there have been so many studies on how intelligent they are, probably second in nature only to man. WTF why don't we just start eating the slow and stupid humans too? OOPS Cletus was too slow and stupid to get out the way when we slaughtered the chickens, roll him in flour and fry him up Earl. Shit like that just pisses me off.

I almost forgot. How many chickens and cows have bonded with mentally challenged and autistic kids like dolphins have? They swim around and communicate on some level with these kids and bring them out of their shells. I've never seen a chicken do that. Also never seen a cow stay with stranded swimmers until they were rescued. So yeah seeing these ****s kill dolphins like that makes me a bit tense and want to hammer nails into their scrotums to hear their screams...it's good i'm not bitter huh?

Actually the gates of Heaven were opened up when Christ was resurected and ascended into heaven.

^Bro you have a right to your opnion, but to say animals have no souls is also ignorant. Iam sure one can dispute anything one does not "believe" in, but it is more ignorant to disbelieve in something that one does not know for sure.

Revelation 5:8-13 all creatures recognize Jesus as the Savior of the world and praise God right along with redeemed men.

In Psalm Psalm 145:-9-10,13,15-21 God loves all His creation and has made plans for all His children and the lesser creatures to enjoy His eternal Kingdom.

Romans 8:19 says that the lesser creatures await Christ's return to redeem the sons of God so they, too, will be released from physical death to eternal life.

Romans 8:21-22 says "Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now"

My angle:

Remember, "Faces of Death", where they showed a butchering plant sawing (two man saw) a cows head off - that was sick. Made me feel bad for cows but man dolphins are incredibly intelligent and I really hate to see them cut on like that. I definately put value on the degree of consciousness animals have. Chickens and fish, not much consciousness - I'm surprised chickens survived long enough to be part of our food chain.

I think part of the problem is not all humans have to kill for their food - they trade for it, so many of us traders have forgotten what it takes to mass produce animal in a can or freezer and if we see a cut of an animal that is 5% less than the same cut by a different company, we buy the cheaper one, i.e. we support humane slaughter as long as its cheap.

I think the American Indians had the right idea by deeply respecting their prey.

I didn't read all the post but just the first page, but I see the same debate about how the animals are killed? Why does it matter how they were killed? Killing is killing. I mean in the wild the animals are killed a lot more violently by other predators than the way us humans kill them so why does it matter? You're still going to chow down on that steak regardless!!!
