go down to your local unions like plumber, electrician, sheetmetal, operators engineering, ect and apply for an apprenticeship......easy work, and always have job security...last i checked a union plumber was making $40 an hour

if your not sure what you want to do, i agree that a trade is the best way to go (electrician etc) they make decent-good money and its a pretty secure job..
i just graduated school and am now a mortgage broker, where half of the employees never went to college..if your a good salesman (im not) then maybe it would be good for you..i would say the average person at my job makes 60-80k/yr all the way up to 300k..its a fairly easy job to get too

trust me bro i bounce at a Bar, and its more fun then working hard in the summers. Hard work builds character... but its f-ing hard, so do something that ur not gonna hate when ur 50. all the older guys that i work with complain all day about how old they are... 50 isnt that old and they still have 12 more years til retirement.

Re: Ideas for a new job?

It pays to know people. I went into this bar that I go to a lot and filled out an app. My buddy from the gym walks in and hes always all pumped up hes like, "what are you doing here bro, do you really want to work at your stomping grounds?" I told him I just want to find a job, hes like "gimme your phone". He makes a few calls and says ok you have a job but you have to go up there right now. So I did and the place hired me as a bartender. Its a really busy place and they close early so I wont have to stay there too late. The other place closed at 2, so I'd be there till at least 3am and that would suck a big one.

                            good for u bro.

pig i wasnt *****ing. like i said hard work builds character... but its not for everyone. its a lot easier when ur young... i was looking at the long run. i dont want to bust my ass doing manual labor. i would rather save my physical energy for the gym. I have a full time caoching job lined up for next year at a college with a good program. Coaching and being around athletics is much easier then flattting, laying pipe, trimming, and finishing.
