Byron, you better do a little more research on this whole subject before you start. This is not an area where you go from green to job general during the building. Even though you will be subbing out the work you are still in charge of everything that goes on. Unless you higher a contractor to run the show and have him sub out the work ( wich is the norm) you will be overseeing all that happens and the order it happens in. If you dont know EVERYONES job like the back of your hand you are looking to have some serious hard times...

IMO you need to fork out the cash and get a real job general to dictate how things go. It's safer and faster, just more expensive....

No prob and yes i did take it that way. Wouldn't anyone? Anyways, iam on tons of test and other aas so iam not exactly likeable, and my wife just slingshot me in the head w/her headband.

I own my own cabinetry company if you have any questions on any cabinetry like kitchen cabinets, doors, Walk in closets with drawers-double hangs-dress hangs-shoe racks-laundry baskets-etc let me know. I can give you a ton of advice on it and could point you in the right direction.

Building custom homes isnt something u can walk right into and make money at knowing nothing about the process. I have seen more then a few people loose their ass thinking it was.

For Alabama's code, any project for a client that amounts to $10,000 or more where you are constructing, supervising the construction of, repairing, or improving a residential building requires a builders license. I took that test last year and passed. It costs about $200 for the books and the classes that have the test.
