Mom broke a wooden spoon over my shoulder one time in the kitchen when I talked back.

Dad always prefered the belt but he also had one hell of a backhand if he ever connected with your butt.

My grandfather always made me go outside and pick a switch off of the fig tree in the backyard, and grandmother used a yardstick.

My sister has 2 boys 18 and 13.....she uses this HUGE n THICK paint stick. Its massive...its scares me to death...its like a small thin paint stick on steroids. She's real quick to take off her belt and beat them senseless.

and I do believe she has used a wooden spoon also.

MY MOM ONLY HIT ME A COUPLE TIMES...WOODEN SPOON, CLOTHES HANGER...BUT MY DAD KICKED MY ASS!! WHEN I WAS YOUNGER IT WAS A BELT. WHEN I GOT TO BE ABOUT 12 HE SAID..."NO MORE BELT" AND SMACKED ME ACROSS THE MOUTH. IT ONLY TOOK 1 OR 2 TIMES FOR THAT AND I WAS ALL DONE MOUTHING OFF. MY DAD WAS A MILITARY MAN WHEN YOUNGER, SO I HAD TO SAY "YES SIR, NO SIR" (OR MAM) TO EVERY QUESTION BY AN ADULT.

MY KIDS KNOW THE FEELING OF A BELT. I WOULDNT SAY THEY HAVE GOTTEN THE ASS WHIPPING'S I HAVE, BUT THEY HAVE GOTTEN SPANKING'S!
MY PARENTS MADE ME THE MAN I AM TODAY. I ONLY HOPE I CAN RAISE MY KIDS AS WELL!

Hmmm...I have to disagree. But this just my opinion. My parents NEVER hit us kids. It was me and 3 older brothers. My dad was the best example of a man you could possibly imagine. And my brothers grew up to be the same as my dad. Maybe my family was just a fluke but I'm proud to say that my parents never laid a hand on us kids and we turned out to be wonderful human beings.

MOm used broomsticks, rulers,hand, just about anything she could get to.
Dad used his belt,only twice. then started the lectures.
Hated the lectures worse then the belt
