I was just listening to the radio and it seems that they dont even mean anything. Like there where some people that had their names done in Japanese caligraphy, unaware that it meant something totally different. eg; girl chicken, wood book, and some other jibberish. Also this caligraphy was done slopshod, meaning it looked more like a child had writen it than a true caligraphy artist ! So if an asian fellow looks at you funny after seeing your tats....

yea very messed up shit ! i had my name professionally painted on all this fancy chinese paper etc and got on internet looked up my name and didnt even match! no where near!If bigger is better then im better than ever ! -

I've heard the same thing too. A buddy of mine got one on his shoulder that was supposed to mean "brothers" but when he looked it up it was totally different. lol

i lived in japan for 2 years. there are so many different dialects that its hard to say which is right and wrong. i have some japanese writing on my arm.Comment

I have an "asian" style tat. I went to Barnes and Noble and bought two books. One that converted english to kanji and another one that had kanji symbols. this one is intense... mine is going on my side over my ribs... so obviously wont be this large...
i went to check out the sketch last night and the guy had left... so im hoping im blown away by what he has worked up when i get there.... dont really have time to ponder it now.I'm Just an old chunk of Coal, But I'm gonna be a DIAMOND some day.

i got mine started last night..
about 3.5 hours down... need another 2 or so....
the ribs is a brutal place for a tattoo.....
ill try and get some photos up... but it still has a ways to go.
