    It doesn't work when coming with a wild punch from the outside ( of course) Bur with quick powerful striking jabs ( like you see in all martial arts) it's pretty devastating. It's quicker, as powerful as a haymaker, and your hands are right there in front of you to protect you. plus, they come back into a defense position much more quickly.

      Sounds like a boxers fracture to me, 2 and/or 3rd metacarples or if it was sloppy then a bar room fracture (also commonly called a boxers fracture), 4 and/or 5th metacarples.

                Ha ! I broke mine jus like that too before. Yeah, they teach law enforcement to palm rather than punch, hard to draw and pull a trigger with broken knuckles they figure.
