Sorry dad, i can't sleep at work

So, i've decided to stay up and chit chat with evil a bit more lol...

To make things clear on what i mean by tookies responsibilities and how they apply to the actions of his members.

As far as i know, any gangs or facsimilies of have a sole purpose and a "foundation" of what they stand for. Each carry their own laws and rules to live by. The leaders create these laws and these rules. Memebers join and follow these "rules" (of course i'm painting this picture with a very broad brush) Now, The leader is liable/ responsible for all acts done under these rules and guidelines by said members. whether there was a direct order or not the leader is the one that insituted these laws and rules. Whether he is in prison or on the streets, to me it makes no difference.. Like for instance if a crip see's a blood and kills him just for being a blood....thats following the rules that the leader has instituted...(not to say that a crip or a blood would do that...i don't know )

I'm not talking about isolated incidents like your scenario provides.Street thugs and wanna be toughguys are an exception to the rule...

Nate I understand what your saying, but how do we know that Tookie instituted these laws? Sometimes in a gang different people are credited with coming up with for example a gangs color or manefesto in general and of course rules to adhere to. What if Tookie didn't institute the laws that say a fellow gangmember should kill an innocent or rival to protect the interest of the crips? After all he was a Co-founder of the crips. Maybe he came up with their hand sign or colors and possibly another co founder instituted the actual laws that a crip member must follow? Those are things to think about

HIM AND HIS BOARD OF TRUSTEES CAME UP WITH THESE RULES. HE WAS THE LEADER OF THIS GANG, WHO ELSE CAME UP WITH THE RULES?

DO YOU IDOLIZE THIS MAN? HE WAS A COLD BLOODED KILLER. WHY ARE YOU DEFENDING HIS ACTIONS? EVEN IF HE WASN'T THE ONE WHO ENFORCED VIOLENCE AND MURDER, HE STOOD BY IT AND ALLOWED IT TO BECOME ACTIONS BY HIS MEMBERS. TELL ME THEN, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE HIM, INNOCENT? I DON'T THINK SO!

I have to believe that as a co-founding party he had a say in whatever was instituted. And sure, the rules now have far surpassed his original ones. But, He laid the foundation for it all to be built on. whether he wanted his group to get as big as it is or not it makes no difference. he could have denounced his affiliation with the crips long ago but he didn't, he took his allegiance with them to his grave...had he denounced them then i would probably be on the other side of this "argument"

Thats why i used the bomb analogy. just bc it blew up more than the guy thought it would doesn't mean he is any less accountable for setting it off.

i'm pretty sure his intentions are to shed a little light and put some perspective on what HE personally knows as a former gang member. well, hell what do i know..i'm seeing double and think i'm floating right now....

                    Re: CALIFORNIA

NATE you know what in all honesty you're pretty much hit the nail on the head with the leader instituting those laws and being responsible for members' actions. I still have to believe that the person committing that murder has to take the brunt of the blame because that person has to make that choice from within, whether his gangs laws state he must react a certain way, he still has to personally choose to do it. So yes tookie, along with other rival leaders, is partially to blame for any murders that have occured not only through the crips but rivals as well. I think we all got off the subject though because the real issue is that he was executed for the murders of 4 innocent people.

Don't get me wrong FUZO I come from a different background than probably most people on the board so I will always see things differently. I just think that in an argument you have to look at the subject from all angles and me living through that I can offer a different point of view. To be honest I still have tendencies to go back to my old hood and just think about how things used to be, the corner we hung out at DON'T WORRY FUZO I'LL SEE YOU LATER IN PERSON JUST NOT NOW CUZ MY CAR IS
