This is always a borderline call. I think it depends on the situation. I have seen some women just bust it out and go her i am feeding let everyone see and to be honest i have 3 young kids if i am walking in the mall is it really fair for them to have to see that. Is it dirty, no. Is it natural, yes. But you should take into consideration the area you are in and the people that are going to be around you. Cover up use a blanket to burp cloth to cover up somewhat. Now if you are in a place and there are only adults well then do so at your own risk. Guys are pervs if they can see some free boob action you know they are going to take it.

Depends on the age bro. My older one yeah no problem but the younger ones no they have no clue about that. Hell they still think babies come from the Stork. All i am saying around its best to keep it away from them. No reason for them to see it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with breastfeeding in public. Its the most natural thing there is - next to sex. Americans have somehow decided that breasts are dirty and inappropriate. But I can't think of any reason why they should be considered so. Some people say they are offended by this display, and I agree that women should probably cover up with a blanket while feeding. But should mothers be forced to retreat into a bathroom stall just to feed their babies? Should they be confined to their homes if they choose to breastfeed? Mothers have every right to breastfeed their children and they should not be forced or shamed into seclusion to do it.

the mothere should at least put a small blanket or cloth diaper over the babies head and her boobie, not only for privacy but so the baby doesn't get distracted by what is going on around her.

Well when I see a mother breastfeeding....its cuz she just gave birth and is in the hospital/hospital bed, etc (I'm at work).....so I'm pretty much numb to this subject.

I rarely see a female breastfeeding in public....but I did see a mother in the mall the other night and she had a blanket covering her shoulder/breast and baby's head, but it didnt bother me.

then maybe you should consider sheltering your young ones from the public. The public is what it is, thats why it's called "public" your family values and beliefs are subject to change as soon as you leave your front door. The sooner people realize that, the better.

Are we all so immature that we can't handle the simple sight of an exposed breast? Grow up a little and understand the big picture. It's not a woman whipping her tit out and exposing it for fun, it's a MOTHER tending to the needs of her CHILD....Whats wrong with that? She should be praised not crucified! For the most part i'm pretty sure that a woman will try to be private about it but, come on, we who have kids know that this isn't possible all the time.

People complain about crying babies and why the mother sits there and lets it cry....well, think about it for a second while remembering the title of this thread....double standards and hypocrisy abound and it's pretty disgusting if you ask me...

When someone notices a woman breastfeeding, they should just mind their own business...I agree, Nate...grow up people...it's not biggy....I never breastfed because it made me uncomfortable, but my sister did. Of course she has no class so just whipped those babies out....I finally told her there is such thing as SUBTLY! LOL (she told me to bite it!)

I just think that if a woman decided to breast feed in public and does not take that step to try and cover up then if I walk over to her I should be able to get some of that milk for my coffee LOL

While women should not have to stay home they should cover up by wearing shirts that are made for women that are breast feeding or simply draping something over themselves.

That's my exact words!!! I just told Mrs D-S to have some damn Kooth about it!!! She'll whip out those Double D's right in front of me and her mom or dad or anyone and go right to feeding!!! I'm like WTF!!! Please, It makes me kinda uncomfortable looking at her tits in front of her parents!!!! Ladies please have some kooth and try to do it in an appropriate manner. If you are sitting in the mall even with a baby blanket over your boobs everyone knows what you are doing and its all great that you are a mother, So....there's no need to expose your swollen boobs to the world to prove that you can breast feed!

Nobody forces you to look, there is no siren above her head that flashes or horns that go off as soon as she starts feeding her child...if you dont like it, don't look...the problem lies with you if you get offended as you are the one that chose to look, not her.
