    cars are to expensive. pay 10k and get a 10 second bike, or 30k for 10 second car.

        I like the big ol' skool muscle cars myself too, especially the big Mopars.
        Leaders did what others weren't willing to do, now they enjoy the things that others do not.

          to me nothing beats the sound of the mustang ...i think it qualifies as old school just a basic pushrod V-8

                i love it when the gauge reads 9 pounds of boost the beast feels like it is just hovering along the road.. snatch 4th gear and the speedo needle can no longer be seen and your ass starts to pucker

                  yes....my friend is running a 17 psi super charge in his cobra 1998 witha 4.56 but man 1 and 2 and 3 gears, teh car fishtailes but as soon as it get the grip..the car is gone....see yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

                    Yeah that video is funny. You'd be surprised how fast some of those imports are. A stock 93 Supra turbo, Mitsubishi 3000gt Vr4, Mazda RX7, & Nissan 300 zx all run 5.1 second or below 0-60mph. It's amazing that to this day you really can't get a car that can run better than that for the same price. The years for performance vehicles was 91-95. Those years is when all of the true performance beasts were affordable.

                      Here's a pic of my beast. She's an 04 Silverado. Since I am a performance freak myself I made sure she was light as can be, so she is a regular cab with a short bed & is 2wd (because 4wd's are heavier thus slower.) And of course my favorite part a 5.3 V8! 330lbs tq & 295hp stock. But it's more than that since I've added a few mods.

                      It's got a Magnaflow Dual exhaust setup, K&N filter, Centerline 20's (that are lighter than my stock 16" wheels) wrapped with 275/45/20 Kumho Ecsta STX high performance tires.

                      Before the tires and rims I ran 15.372@88.38 MPH in the 1/4 mile at Moroso speedway. Now that I actually have tires that grip like glue I bet I could run maybe a 15.1.

                      Did anyone run there car or truck at the dragstrip?

                      BTW, I never knew you were into cars bigmike.

                        Yeah 1991 to 1995 was the best years for performance imports. The replacement cars liek the 350Z and RX-8 don't compare to the old school models. Only a couple new imports I think are worth buying. The new Subaru WRX STi and the Mitsubishi EVO VIII run 0 to 60 in around 4.8 secs stock!!!

                          Is it legal to had a turbo to a car or bike?
                          Here it's not...
                          I like japanese cars because they are ligth and powerfull. Performance are not that far to rally cars. Then for every day life they are mostly reliable and don't consume much gas if you don't drive to fast. American muscle cars are not an option because of the price of gas here. Then we have smaller roads and less straight lines, so a japanese car is much more effective.

                            Yeah turbos are legal over here for both cars and bikes. Why aren't turbos legal in France? They are legal every where else in Europe right?

                              No turbos are very illegal here. When you change the caracteristics of a car you must send your car to be checked by some governement organisation for security, pollution,...
                              Then every car has to be checked every 2 years to see if ites secure do drive with them. They check light, tires, pollution,... and they will see the turbo even if you haven't declared it. After this check they give you a paper you show to the police when they arrest you. If at the check you car is no good you have to repair it or you can't drive it.
                              There isn't this check for bike for now... but here bikes power is restricted, no more than 106hp. Many bikes are unrestricted but if you have a turbo on a car or a fullpower bike the insurance won't pay if you have an accident.

                              I don't know if it's legal everywhere else in europe. Maybe in England. I doubt it in germany. Even if there bikes are unrestricted, they have to be tüv compliant. You rarely german bike with an exhaust, K&N, dynojet or things like that we have in France (even if the exhaust are not all legal here because of noise).

                                sick ride snickers...

                                i have had three mustangs in my day, two 1990 LX 5.0s and one 89 GT.

                                i would buy them used and gut them, then trick them out.

                                one had top end mods (stock bottom end), exhaust, and a 150hp compucar nitrous system. i ran a 7.90 on STREET TIRES and hit the traps at 90mph in the eighth mile. i was the first kid under 19 to go for a sub-8 sec run in a street car. nitrous rules.

                                the GT had just about the same top end mods, but also had one of the intercooled superchargers from ATI. it was and easy mid-to-low 11 sec car.

                                the last LX i kept naturally aspirated, but tricked out the engine all the way. bored 30-over, custom grind lunati cam, lightweight pistons, ARP bolts + studs, ported and polished GT40 heads + intake, roller rockers, full length headers and 2.5 inch exhaust out the back, 73mm mass air, i can't remember the rest... it's been almost 10 years! put 631 miles on that fucker and totalled it.

                                after that i went to a honda lol. they didn't make very good daily drivers, and this was back when gas was cheap!

                                i woudl still like to find a '93 LX on the cheap to gut. i figure for like $15K i can have a really sick weekend warrior. one day....
