It's times like this I wish I was loaded so I could take a small boat filled with food and help these people. I can't imagine what they are going through. No food, barely any drinkable water. Whole families just stranded, half without any flood insurance so they're stuck with a mortgage and no home. Breaks me heart to see these people suffer!

What gets me is that everyone knew it was coming and going to be big..why didn't surrounding areas, motels, hotels, people in general, offer shelter for thos people who have no family elsewhere...then maybe there wouldnt have been so many deaths....and they'd be drinking fresh water! now people are scrambling to donate and help those still stuck there? but who knows, that may have posed another problem by opening up your home or lending a hotel or 2 ?

It makes me sad. I spent a significant period in my life living there. Its such a wonderful city in many ways - and in many ways it will never be the same. I guess it could have been worse, but this is a terrible tragedy for all those who live in New Orleans.

looks like they have stopped transporting them to the Astrodome due to gunshots fired. OMG....I just watched the news...1000s of ppl just standing on the side of the road with buses, ambulances, police cars just sitting still. God....you know in that heat...tempers are going to flare.
