Well, once again I opened my big fat mouth and told the new GF that I'd cook dinner on Valentines day.
Now she's expecting a fancy romantic dinner and the last time I got an urge for fancy food I added chopped up hot dog weiners to my Mac & Cheese!
I was scopeing out the grocery store the other day and they have filet mignon (is that how you spell it?) that already partially prepared.... well, it's got the piece of bacon wrapped around the outside anyway. So I was thinking of cooking that, and then adding a baked potatoe and some veggies to the mix.
The veggies and baked potatoe I can handle. But I've never cooked Filet Mignon before.
So here's my questions:
1) What's the best way to cook it? Oven, fry or BBQ? Should I seer it first?
2) Should I marinate it? If so, what would you reccomend for a marinate and how long should it soak for?
