    Re: Satanic Music

First off, tough shit! This is what was on when you joined, this is what is on now. If you didn't like it then, you shouldn't have joined up.

Second, all of these "satanic" bands do it for show. I seriously doubt these guys have ever seen the satanic bible or even pray to or worship satan. It's just a gimmick to sell records. Sure, some really really push the line but I doubt any main stream rock bands are truely satanic.

Third, this a democracy and the majority wins. The majority wants rock. Period.

I used to manage a Cory Everson gym back in Georgia and those women were the worst. All the teeny poppers wanted that rap crap, the serious women bodybuilders wanted the rock, the middle age women wanted "soft" rock (there's an oxymoron for you), and the old ladies wanted easy listening. So, I'd put on trance and piss all of them off. LOL

Rule of thumb: 20% of the people will be unhappy all the time. There is nothing you can do but tell them "sorry, but you have a contract. Maybe you should have asked about this before you joined".

    Good luck.

in a nutshell that is whats told to them when they join. I have very strict rules about what gets played and at what times. Times and tunes are posted for all to see. You cant please everyone all the time BUT when the high school football team comes in to lift, there is no way in hell Celine Dion ( or whatever her name is) is going to be playing. Like you said "majority rules" and i pretty much have it down pat on what goes on. Its funny bc All my trainers, my wife, myself and all wear headphones to be some kind of example but these types of people think that since we have headphones on they can listen to what they want...bleh...it'll never end...

Bottom line, they will not get a red cent back, they have the choice to come in when the easier croud does....So FUCK em!

            Re: Satanic Music

I work out at a 24 hour GYM. The owner only plays one station. It is a mix between oldies, and rock. But that doesn't get me motivated. Believe it or not when I hear rap on the t.v. cause they drown out the oldies with MTV. I seem to feel more pumped. I need to get me a MP3 player. I just haven't had time to go and get one. The bad side to head phones is the dumbasses that are singing..... Next time I m going to throw a barbell at them, saying SHUT THE #%@* UP!!!!! Then turn around and act like nothin ever happened....

No, a gym is not an "open to the public" business. It's open to paying members. Sure, you can tour the facility but you need to pay membership dues to use the facility. They may be yearly dues, monthly dues or even daily dues, nevertheless, you must pay dues (or be a guest of a member) to use the facility.

Also, there is a bulls#!t company that says you must pay $$ to play music at your gym. I never paid once in the 6 years I managed clubs and they never did anything.

Hmm I wonder if I could terminate my membership on those grounds?
I used to manage this high class Executive Gym here in Colorado Springs. $200 enrollment and $89 per month. Now, at this gym we did play the oldies and classical because that's what the majority wanted. It sucked for the young people who could afford the gym cause they were out numbered. we had oldies in the gym and classical in the locker room (saunas and steam rooms were in there). I never understood how someone could train to oldies but you'd be surprised at how hard some of these old guys would train. They'd run for an hour on speed 7 then go lift. Not me!

It wasn't the type of music that they had the big problem with, but when you started playing it backwards and stood in the middle of the floor chanting, you had to figure that would piss someone off.

i knew that pentagon i had put in my floor mats would come back to haunt me...I wonder if the all the serial killer crime scene photos i have plastered on the walls will have the same effect..

Side note- I just brought in a tattoo artist and a body piercing crew to give people something to watch while lifting.
