Ryker, you should take note that the military (the best in the world) is an all-volunteer army. no one forced anyone to sign up. When "the middle and lower class" signed up, they acknowledged that there was a real possibility that they would have to earn the money they were being given for college, etc. and they would have to go to war. That was the deal and everybody knows it when they go in. I am so sick of liberals and others complaining about how this is a war being fought by the "poor". While it may be true that most folks did it for the money, they volunteered, knowing the risks. There are lots of options for getting money for college..working as you go, applying for loans, or applying for grants. Joining the military is a great opportunity, but it does have one BIG catch, and everybody who signs up knows it. This debate about only the poor going to war is silly; only those who signed up voluntarily are going to war--poor or otherwise.
