I urge everyone to log onto the American Family Association website (afa.net--I think) and join in the petition drive to encourage the legislature to pass the Marriage Protection Act which would define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The homosexual push to gain the same status as heterosexuals and to redefine marriage is wrong and is a serious threat to our society. Please log on and contact your legislators today!

amen brotha! Amazing how increasingly accepting society has become of homosexuality. My wife likes to watch a tv show called Degrassi. (she's 22...lol) Kind of a kids show, about kids in high school. There are kids like 15 or 16 yo on there that are openly gay and kiss and everything! What is this going to teach the young kids that watch tv shows like this??? The FCC is quick to jump Howard Sterns ass but they allow this kind of stuff. Drives me nuts.

I've been forwarding my AFA emails to just about everyone to get the petition signed. Just think, if we allow marriage to be redefined by the courts, where will it end?

The courts have gotten out of control, IMO. Just think, the opinion of a few liberal-minded old men can change the law voted on and passed by the votes of thousands..this is not the way it was intended to be. Also, the mayors in the cities that have allowed gay marriages to happen have frankly broken the law and should be prosecuted.

i cant believe not one person replied to this negatively. I dont know why anyone cares if another man is married to another man. I am not a homosexual in any way, but for those who are, i think they should be able to get married if theyd like. The divorce rate is already over 50% maybe they know something we dont. I do not think they should be able to adopt kids, thats where i draw the line.

Damn you americans are late, in canada, well quebec, we have gay marriage since a looooooooong queerish time. I dislike it, but if two human being wants to get marry because they love eachother, thats okay with me. But hope they do it civily, not in front of the chuch as it challenges traditions. Also I disagree about them having kids, but for the rest, what will it change to your life? Affraid to be invited to a gay wedding?

I for one am really glad our country is late to this sort of thing. But, as we know, Canada has long since abandoned most of the Christian/Catholic beliefs in their government's decision making process, and well, look at the results. The fact of the matter is that homosexuality is an unnatural and immoral act and as such should never be condoned in society in the same fashion as married heterosexuals. As far as how it affects my life, I for one am concerned as to where it will stop and the society that we will leave for our kids. If you note the homosexual activists websites, theyre quoted as saying that marriage is just another inroad they plan on making in overturning the traditional judeo-Christian culture in America. As Ive said, Canada has become a primarily secularist country, but we in the US still claim religion as a part of our lives. Immorality breeds immorality. Next will be homosexual adoptions, we already are having more and more of those, the promotion of homosexual lifestyles in primary schools, then we'll see late term abortion, cloning of humans, etc. etc. Im interested how vandoo stands on abortion and cloning issues.

The homosexuals claim themselves to be a "minority", and as such should be protected. Homosexuality is a behavior, not a race. A race is an unchangeable state of being. One cant choose to be black, white, purple...but one can choose to..well, you know what homosexuals do.

Unfortunately, we live in an increasingly permissive society. The act of homosexuality is absolutely disordered and wrong. This does not mean that the person is in any way less of a person or that they should be persecuted, but to permit and cater to this "lifestyle" does everyone involved an injustice. There is such thing as absolute Truth and that Truth cannot be ammended to make a special intrest group feel comfortable.

a civil wedding, actually what does it say, it only equal rights for couple. so if you gay and with a man 35 years and he dies, so you get all the right a widow would get, that sounds just fair. But like I told you, religiously I dont know.

I am from the gayest city in North America, we have the biggest gay rave, the biggest gay population worldwide and we introduced gay marriages.

You are against gay marriages because you are affraid that the act will bring a threat to society. Actually I do agree with you, I am totally against gay marriages. But, now just think if you would be gay, would you like to be treated as equal, and this involved a marriage, an union between two people that love eachothers? But now, you have to tell me what there is so bad about this?

Me I will tell you the truth, I am against it and I am surprised of what im writing here. These go against my culture, traditions and values, but I was taught that if two people love eachother no one cant go against that, so if they want to unite themselve so be it.
