You guys know anything about Tampa?

I am most likely going to be moving to Tampa FL during the summer(maybe fall). Now I know its going to be hot but that is about it. I have hit all the Tampa chat rooms but most of those people have been less that accomadating on answering questions. Seems as though they dont want me to move there.

Right now I am trying to find the nice side of town/towns. I was thinking St. Pete but I dont know. I have not been there and will be heading down in a few weeks to scout around.

I would rather live close to a waterway and honestly do not want to live far away from the city but not in it either. farthest would be 15-20 miles.

Someone mentioned Brandon.

Close to some motocross tracks would be a plus

I have an interview for the PD down there in April, possibly moving if they make it worth it. Look around Clearwater or Largo area, decent places that are really affordable.

Hey Spider I live in Belleair, that's right next to Largo. Largo has some good areas and some bad. But Largo, Indian Rocks Beach, St.Pete, Seminole, Clearwater is all on one side of the Bay and Tampa is the other. If you live in any of those towns you have to drive 40 min. or so to get to Tampa. I went to USF and lived for a while right by the campus. Not the safest part of town but for a college kid I loved it. Coming from Largo your looking at a long car ride to go party, school or work in Tampa. If you like city life and late night clubs, strip clubs, bars, bars, bars than you'll want to live in the Tampa area. Look into North Tampa. Also, New Tampa is a nice, growing area a lot of new homes going up, a little expensive. I never want to leave the Clearwater /St. Pete area myself, but I'm 29 and have a family. But the beaches here rock. You can live on the water, not the beach but a canal close to the beach for a little as $750 a month. If you really want the beach and want to live like a surfer check out Sunset Beach it's just North of St.Pete Beach and South of Treasure Island. Indian Rocks Beach is great too, if you find a good deal. There was a 1 BR apt. for rent last summer for $550 / month I almost moved in! If you have any questions PM me or e-mail.

Bro, Iv'e got 3 uncles in Tampa! But unless you wanna run with bikers, they will be of no help, lol. And everywhere I have beeen in tampa was a shit hole, but maybe that is just where they live and hang out??
