This girl I like that works at the gym I go to, she likes me to. Her grown child lives with her leaving the grandchildren to raise while daughter has a social life the friend has none because of raising grandchildren. The kids are 8 and 10 this has been going on since they were born.
My friend and I wants to go out on a date but it seems like this will happen when the kids mom decides to be the mom.
What can I do?
as long as she allows it to happen their isnt anything you can do. i have one grand kid and another on the way, if my kid was down on their luck i would take them in for a little bit but long term no way. you are grown and need to grow up. free rides are given way to often. i have a friend at the gym that a chick trapped into a kid and him and her both are or where all messed up. she is a physco and he had a tbi so they passed the kid off on his parents who are old as shit. so they are raising the boy as their own. that kind of stuff drives me crazy. dont have sex unless you are willing to take responsibility if something happens.
Nothing bro, I am afraid to say that in my experience watching other folk try to navigate similar situations. Stuff will not change and if that gal you like tells the daughter to stay home and watch her own kids she will resent you for ruining her golden deal. That is when the probs come in.
My buddy was in a similar situation with his girlfriends step sons (Their dad died and she raised them from teens) who every friday thought she was there to watch their kids. Well in comes my buddy who wants to go out on friday night with her. She told them she was going on a date on friday night and ever since then they have tried to torpedo those two's relationship. They were going to get married but have since said phuck that as it will never work. now they see each other occasionally even though they really love each other. The drama and resentment from all parties involved is not worth it.
