I am on SSI. What do I need to do to get a check?

pretty sure i saw on one of the briefs awhile back that you dont have to do anything. they will put it into your account like everyone else

I feel the biggest enemy here is the media. I've been reading about the pandemics in 1918 and 1968, they were much worse. Was born in 68 and I have been asking some elderly people about that Pandemic, they haven't a clue about it. My thoughts are, the resources were not like they are now, hence why many just went about their daily lives without hysteria. Our family is taking some measure but we are still living the same life we usually do.


Back to the checks, dw, if you do not file taxes, it just may take a bit longer to get. Do some Googling , I'm sure there is a lot of info out there.

Who got one? I guess Im not eligible. No stimulus check for me. I would love to get one and I would stimulate the economy by buying a rototiller so I can get this buffalo grass planted

Got ours and paid a bill and wAiting to have dead area returfed in the backyard with the rest. Nothing else to use it on being locked down by the state Governor

haha...Im good man. This board is "live and let live" and everybody supports everybody in spite of differences, so it's pretty rare to see someone wanting to be argumentative about anything. Waste of time.
Im heading back to my second job in 2 hours which was shut down for 3 weeks. Will I be coming into contact with covid 19 today at work? Probably. These people have no choice. They are making things that go to New York hospitals. They dont have the luxury of staying home so I am going deep into the eye of the storm to help them, one day a week. Geared up on PPE of course LOL Have a good Tuesday. USA!!!USA!!!

Shutdown Could Kill More Americans Than COVID-19

"No model or guesswork is required to foresee the deadly impact. Job losses cause extreme suffering. Every 1% hike in the unemployment rate will likely produce a 3.3% increase in drug overdose deaths and a 0.99% increase in suicides according to data provided by the National Bureau of Economic Research and the medical journal Lancet. Scientists call these fatalities deaths of despair.

Then add the predictable deaths from alcohol abuse caused by unemployment. Health economist Michael French from the University of Miami and a co-author found a "significant association between job loss" and binge drinking and alcoholism.

The impact of layoffs goes beyond suicide, drug overdosing and drinking. Overall, the death rate for an unemployed person is 63% higher than for someone with a job, according to findings in Social Science & Medicine.

Layoff-related deaths are likely to far outnumber the 60,400 coronavirus deaths predicted through August

Something that really put this in perspective for me was the thought of me getting infected and dying in the hospital alone without my family and what damage it would be for my son to lose me without getting to spend my final days with me. And yes I have underlying conditions before anyone says “you would t die”. I have asthma and also high blood pressure and a family history of cardiac events. What really put the nail in the coffin for me is the idea that I unknowingly bring it home and my son Gets sick and ends up in the hospital alone with out us. It would tear me apart knowing he was without any loved ones. And if I lost him that way i would never recover from it.

Thanks guns. I called every creditor I could think of to get some forbearance and I am not paying any employees. So Ive been able to slash my overhead down to almost nothing. The phone company is giving me a free month of phone and internet in my office. Had plans on finishing the remodel on my house and that is on hold now. My kitchen is completely demolished and it is probably going to stay that way for who knows how long. The floor is ripped up and have no sink or stove, just a microwave, oven and a fridge. Im washing dishes in the bathroom sink. haha
I wonder how some businesses are going to survive. I wonder if movie theaters will ever recover from this. I am sure not eager to go sit in a movie theater with a bunch of people. I dont know if I want to be sitting on an airplane any time soon either. This has destroyed a lot of lives. The shutdown is going to do way more damage than the virus ever could.
