Hope I don’t regret this

So as some of you may remember, my long time gym of 20+ years closed in 2017 and I scrambled to find a new one within driving distance and also had decent training equipment. I tried a gym in town about 3 minutes from my house that I left within a month to join a gym next town over with quasi ok equipment but few plates. I was doing 360 on the hack squat and had dude asking how long I would be as he needed some 45’s for benching. Stayed there about 11 months and started at Snap Fitness which had expanded and had decent stuff and was 24/7. About mid February they had a plastic curtain go up after a small ceiling leak and it has been up all this time with no real schedule when whatever work the construction crew was doing will be finished. Signs from building inspector say no one can enter the curtained area. Problem is the smith machine is inside that area. And the curtain hangs half over the leg press. So until work is done I had been doing what I can there and also going to the one I used to in town. But with the new big box gym going up about 6 miles away I stopped once during construction with my Gold’s stringer tank and gallon of water and when in the trailer/office I saw the PF ad playing discouraging the lunk in stringer tank and gallon of water “stereotype” I said yeah I think I’m good. I actually visited after construction and opening and walked around and scoped out the equipment and was unfortunately impressed with some of it. Especially the ab area. They have all the apparatuses my old beloved gym had I’ve been missing. With my shoulder rehabbing I’m limited to floor crunches and my abs have disappeared so I said fuck it and signed up at a chain I’d been asked to leave from two of their locations in the past. So I asked about the tanks and they said only restriction is tanks can’t show nipple. So yes my stringers are not ok but sleeveless is cool and I will wear my stringers for the stuff I do at Snap. Hoping I don’t regret signing up. I’ll still be at 2 gyms but hopefully my physique will get back to where I want by summer next.

Good to have a PF membership for a back up. Its only $10 a m,onth and they never close. They have good cardio but their weights suck. No free weight squat rack and no deadlifting allowed. I go to PF a couple times a week and the other gym the rest of the time. I didnt know about the no nipple rule LOL

Agreed, I’ll use the leg press here for now until surgeon clears me to lift like normal.

Nothing wrong with planet fitness. It gets a bad wrap but doing something is better than nothing

shit just using it for tanning is a plus. sad for me they wont let me in haha even covered up and not carrying anything. i did train at one up in jersey for a day. excellent facility with tons of dbs bbs and machines.

Been at PF for 6 months and I love it! Fuzo has been to a couple, when we travel, and he liked them too. the one I go too, is always kept so clean, workers are nice, equipment is always working and is kept updated too. As far as the lunk alarm, I have never heard it go off. Also, I have only seen food once there, and it was bagels and coffee. I use the massages chairs daily too. Hope you have found a good cheap place, that fits your needs, Big Dawg. Pay no mind to other peoples chatter and make your own opinion

Been at PF for 6 months and I love it! It’s not bad cost wise, 22$ with tax per month. Disappointed the massage chairs had a coin slot. Thought they were free with black card. Still couldn’t do a lot with shoulder per dr orders but I hit abs and tried everything out with left arm. Should be. It too painful.

I have the Black card too. Massage and tanning are free. They give me the coins at the front desk. Ask them and see.

The Lunk Alarm is real. I set it off one time at PF by dropping the dumbells on the floor after benching them. You know, its hard to set them down gently. So the alarm and light goes off and the manager comes over to me and tells me I cant be dropping weights. Sheesh. I barely dropped them. Rubber coated dummbells on a rubber floor. How stupid.

i must be a complete ass because the local wont let me join. i am not that big and i stay completely covered up. i cant remember the last time i wore a tank top haha
