I got it done yesterday. It took 2 people all day to do kitchen and hall. It does look good but it raises a question. I have a food pantry attached to the kitchen it is 2' x 3'. When you say kitchen does it or not include the pantry? I say it does.
Well anyway I was checking out his work and would not pay him unless the pantry was finished. It looked so unfinished without it being done
For sure man! It has to be done. Pantry is part of the kitchen, period, end of story.
We looked at vinyl floor. it is really tough (not as physically tough as laminate by a bit) the big thing is water will not hurt it. Our laminate was destroyed after my son's fish tank pump failed and water got on it. Wrecked the floor. It swole up and was ruined. How is the vinyl to walk on? it is thinner than our laminate and if we changed I assume it would leave gaps under out trim?

I got 7 mil commercial vinyl planks. It was left overs from a grocery store. I bought all they had left for about 1/4th of what it cost. It looks really good. They had to cut it with a circular saw.

a circular saw? damn they must cut perfectly. I used a miter saw and a table saw for my laminate and a jig saw around door jambs and such. I cannot cut straight free handing it. These guys must be good!
Way to go getting the stuff for cheap. 7 mil is pretty good. i think mine is 14 mil. I bet i could caulk 7 mil and just drop the trim 6 mil.
