New years traditions?

I have a big pot of black eyed peas simmering on the stove with the bone from the Christmas ham I smoked. Going to make some turnip greens and cornbread to go with it.

The whole fam will sit down for dinner and watch a movie together.

Then tomorrow, the wife and I will go keto to drop the lbs we gained over the holidays. I did pretty good, only 4-5 lbs for me to drop. same with the wife.

What are your traditions? (Notice I did not say resolutions as I never stick to them for a whole year)

This is great jipped! I was just making up cinnamon rolls, and thinking...I would rather gather with people on this day than on Xmas day. NYD was always a blah day to me soI tried to plan things to elevate that mood. Had an appetizer party one yearand everyone brought their fave. Happy New Year and enjoy your day

I figured every guy used January 1 as day 1 to see how long you can go without beating off. Maybe its just me ...lmao

Black Eyed Peas for us as well! We made dinner New Year's Eve, sat down and had a quiet evening watching the ball drop then went to bed. New Year's day was just relaxing at home and dinner with Black Eyed Peas.

A friend came over and he and my fam watched a couple movies and ate peas and corn bread until I thought they would come out my ears. they were good.

Nice relaxing day.
