  • gun control

I have been in a discussion with liberal friends about these school shootings. They are on a kick to ban guns. I tell them it not a gun issue but a social issue. If gun were banned people who want to murder others will find a more devious way to do it.

When I was in HS many trucks in the parking lot had guns in the back window. 0 was used to hurt others.

Children now place less or no value on human lives or animals too. Violent movies and video games. Music that glorify violence. I don't know.

It is a social issue not a gun issue. People need to understand this.

Cool ! I was just thinking the same thing this morning after hearing them blab about this on the radio. Right, I can remember back when I was a kid, it wasn't how big of a lift ya had on your truck it was what ya had on the gun rack. Nobody ever got shot, just meet ya after school and duke it out,.. then everybody was friends. Matter of fact, nobody ever went anywhere and mowed people down. "Well it's all the video games", hell, we all used to dress up in camo, go into the middle of the woods and split into teams and pretend to slaughter eachother,.. playing Army or Cowboys and Indians c'mon man !?!? Ever talk to a kid nowadays ? it's like talking to an inmate through the glass,.. jus sorta emotionless and robot like. they just seem outta touch socially (to me). It's not a "Gun thing" it's a f#cked up in the head somehow thing ! when I was a kid you had to actually communicate personally between people, not press and swipe a phone. We didn't express ourselves with a set of different smiley faces on a cell phone. Trust me we had a lot of messed up kids too, alcoholic and abusive parents, divorce was pretty bad for kids too I remember. I was bullied all to hell too when I was a kid,.. nobody ever cut themselves or went on a gun rampage. I cant quite peg it. Everything is just so anonymous like,.. ya know ?

i grew up the exact same way dirt. we left school and went straight into the woods hunting. we also carried pocket knives and didnt need metal detectors. i can also remember that if you got into a fight and a teacher told you to stop and if you didnt they would go hands on you and their was no problem with that. now if you had the balls enough to go hands on with a teacher that was a whole other ball game. a handful of them would be painfully taking you down with a nice escort to the principle for your forever vacation from any school in the area. we were always held accountable for our actions point blank period. we respected and in some ways feared the authority of our teachers and parents. that is absolutely no where to be found in today's society. parents these days just want to be cool and be their kids best friends.

No kiddin', I went to school in Texas and just about every Kikker (Redneck), had a Buck knife on'em. We partied or asses off and all and had issues, but NEVER, (and with every opportunity mind ya! ) did anyone whip out their shot gun or knife and go slaughtering anybody for crying out loud !
