  • Interesting heart rate info from 2 different workouts I did

First one is from a straight run I did thinking I was doing cardio for fatloss. I was way up there in the BBM zone theoretically just shredding muscle, glycogen and carbs. Only spend 6 sec in the fat burn zone..lol
2nd was a chest and back superset. Put it in as a running workout cause I couldn't sink it for weightlifting so not sure if the cals are off. hr for hr looks like intervals/ supersets really put you in that prime zone to change your body composition.

The run was even above anaerobic which is fine for some conditioning but to bang that out for fatloss would certainly not be a good idea.

i do not understand the correlation of high heart rate to fatloss/catabolism. I am certain sprints are great for fat loss. I suppose these graphs show you need to bring it down a notch?

you know what's funny? when i used to train to run distance back in the day, i found that intervals on the track translated into faster distance run times did than just lo right a lefting did for distance. i would do 3-4 intervals sessions a week then a slow 3-5 mile run a week and would shave 4-6 mins off my 3 mile run time in 60 days. i could do even more doing the program longer but i usually only got about 60 days notice before i would go to a school or something requiring me to test. what i did on the track is i would sprint as hard as i possibly could for 100m then slow shuffle the other 300m to recover. i would do 4-5 rounds of this and then call it a day. man i am so glad i dont have to do those things any more haha. we also did that when i was a very very young pup then hit the pool for laps and 30-45 mins of treading water daily. those really really sucked

That's what it's showing jip. When I did the steady state my heart rate was jacked. At that level of output supposedly the body burns glycogen and muscle for fuel and less likely fat.
On the interval workout/super set it put me in the fat burning zone on average way longer.
I don't think anything shreds you up and maintains muscle better than sprinting. Look at sprinters, it's one massive control experiment.l which points in one direction.

Yeah jip, steady state is bad enough, steady state at high intensity is recipe for catabolism. I need intervals cause I mentally can't run slow. I had no idea I was redlining like that running.

Yeah man, cross over training is great. I guarantee you sled dragging will improve my leg stamina on long runs.

oh hell yeah man. i would say that would be about the same if not more intense than sprinting. that's some serious training and i have still not figured out how so many fighters can look out of shape with all that training haha

bad diet and normally a heavier weight class. I try to stay under 170 which is hard to keep off mass. I have to eat 60-80 grams of protein ed. to stay at my preferred weight class. Funny, i am done fighting (not by my choice but my body's) yet I still maintain my weight around 165 so that if something came up................
