From the pics it looks localized. The only way to tel 100% what it is, is to have a culture done. Bloodwork would most likely only reflect if the infection has gone systemic. From the pics it doesn't seem that that's the case. I've had mrsa before and thought I was going to loose my arm, it never went systemic. I did have a clise friend that had mrsa go systemic after knee surgery.. that wasn't good. He was on a iv for several months.
Still would be good to check some blood levels to make sure. I am sure if his body is hurting all oever or if he has a fever?
Still would be good to check some blood levels to make sure. I am sure if his body is hurting all oever or if he has a fever? I had a bacterial infection get in my blood and it was deadly! I was pregnant at the time and it became contained in the fluid the baby was in and infected her to.
I didn't see the op list those symptoms unless I missed them??

Update: a cousin that I see from time to time HAS Mersa. Would have been nice to know, now we know what the source is. My skin is rock hard, so the doctor refused to cut into it to bleed some of the puss out. She said that it wouldn't' be possible. Gave me two shots in the ass. One for antibiotics, and one for painkiller. Gave me a scrip of Bactrim Ds...? I think? and some generic Norco for pain killer. I'm worried because of the mentioned infection in my nose. Mersa is probably in the blood stream. Thankfully I went in last night, could have been bad. Last thing I need is Cellulitis or sepsis.
I'd go to planet fitness, but I'd hate to set off the Lunk Alarm.
Update:
Just got back from the doctor. I'm not responding positively enough to the oral Bactrim DS, got prescribed another specifically for MRSA, and another anit-b shot in the ass. Have to go back for one tomorrow and the next day in the morning. Swelling is has spread 1/4 inch outside the surgical marks so far.
I'd go to planet fitness, but I'd hate to set off the Lunk Alarm.
