I just started doing deadlifts in my leg routine for about a month. I have had pain in my lower back ever since. Is this from improper form, toomuch weight or a combination Or is this just normal in the begining. Thanks in advance

I know a shit load of bros will say Dead lifts are important but I am not a big fan of them and feel they are more an old school training theory.
Personally I do them but with light weight to target the hams.
But to go as heavy as you can I really do not see or have read anything that would show they are a necessity for building thick legs.
I do presses and hack squat machines and my legs are one of the best features I have.
I have never felt that Dead lifts or squats are really needed and risk major back problems if you make a mistake!
I know due to I bulged my lower discs from squatting and were only using 315lbs!
Just my 2 cents.
Peace..PA

combo of both. and squats are defantly needed to pack on mass. they work so many different muscles same with deadlifts. if you do straight legs they work a lot of more hams then normal but both work pretty much the same muscles. i would say do normall dead on back day though not on leg day, lower the weight till u get good form, and practice on good form it will keep you from getting hurt.my only email is lsutigerfan@cyber-rights.net
The only screenname I use is LSU777.
