From the ez post, I got to thinking, do we as seasoned lifters have an unwritten responsibility to Inform someone if they are doing a workout way wrong? I don't mean slightly bad for but my example would be a young buck maybe 20 front squatting and his ankles were rolled. Literally_/ \_
I don't attempt to help out the group of tough guys but the one off, working by himself, green nose.

i dont offer any advice to anyone unless asked personally. most of the young guys get offended and the older guys forget about it. sad thing is that you may offer advice to help someone out but then they will go tell x amount of people that you were pushing your opinions on them and then you turn into the advice guy at the gym. i go in head phones in hat pulled down and when i see it i just shake my head and continue on with my business. with the net and all the sites out there all someone has to do is google it and presto you got 10k different videos to check out.
that is just my opinion man and i am not being condenscending to you at all. just saying what i do in your situation

Not once did I find it condescending. This is exactly what I do.
The other day I noticed 2 elderly ladies fussing with a hack machine. I probably don't look like a nice guy in the gym especially with my hoody up and drenched in sweat. But I walked over, pulled out my ear buds, and asked if they needed help with understanding the machine. They were so happy and appreciative of the gesture, so I told them don't hesitate to come over and ask me if you have any more questions about anything. They both shook my hand and said thank you again.
Now guys who I can see eyeing me up, we all know the look, watching what I do, I can give 2 poops about them. But if a guy ever comes up with a genuine personality and ask what's up, then I'll take the time to explain the method behind the madness lol.
Other then that, I'm on a time limit. I need to be in and out, and back home...
Think it is good to help someone who is doing something wrong, but people will either like that or they won't. Sometimes the personal trainers even need to be corrected as they have their clients doing the wrong shit, lol
I usually keep to myself unless its a old person who isnt doing it right

If I see an older person who is struggling or a younger person you know is out of their element, I will ask if they would like some help. Most of the regulars at my gym (family fitness place) leave me alone for the most part but know if they ask that I will help. Most know enough to wait between sets before asking and then I don't mind. Very nice young guy there maybe 15 who comes in with his mom. He always waits for me to finish before asking for help. I'm not a social person at all, but I'll always help if he asks. But he is a good student, racks his weights, dries off the equipment and let's people work in. Gotta help people like that.

I always kept to myself and put my ipod as loud as I could. When it comes to giving advice to young men who think they know it all at the gym , its never a good idea. Usually young men like that don't take women serious and look @ them like they don't know wtf they are talking about. Even tho I was power lifting and going heavier then they were, they still thought they knew more. So I just kept to myself.
Now if I saw some ladies and elderly people confused on what to do, then I politely offer my help .
