When you have injuries you must stop working out and let them heal 100% not 90% but 100% and if we have injuries that we dont let heal then other injuries will happen it a domino affect. You need a doc and a MRI

      Re: omg!!

if you have health insurance go tot he dr. man. could have a problem with your rotator cuff. which cause should pain... also your supraspinatus helps connects shoulder to biceps. have you tried GH? also your not 18 anymore so maybe you need to lift lighter. most guys who are in there late 30's stop lifting super heavy. the career of a powerlifter isnt vary long...

yea man you need to take the time to heal bro. It sounds to me like you have a problem with your bicep tendon which runs all the ay up into your shoulder. If you can go see a doc and get it taken care of. if there was a pop you might have something seriously wrong

dang dave, sorry to hear that. If theres no visible deformation to your bicep, then you might be ok. Probably something that will take some time to heal. In the meantime, while youre healing up, just do exercises that cause no pain. Try not to get too discouraged.

            Re: omg!!

I know exactly how you feel man...
got to heal and then rehab that shoulder.
If not everything else fails trying to carry the load for it.
PM me if you want my secret rehab routines.Shhhh. secret.
then get some Cissus and of course glucosamine chondroitin with MSM.
You got to overkill the warm ups and even drop poundages and do more volume if need be. As you "mature" you have to use the power of your mind to make lighter weights do the work of heavier loads...peak contractions, eccentric lowering and all the tricks you have learned in a lifetime of lifting.

Its just a new phase of training. Stop focusing on the loss of strength and look at the muscle. Nobody cares what you lift if the muscle is bigger and leaner.
Change the focus of the gym to what the muscle looks like instead of how much you can press or curl.
I had to do this too.
Its an ego thing for me...

              Re: omg!!

woke up this morning...no bruising, swelling went down (mostly gone). hurts, badly, to rotate my hand. hurts in ther area that i felt the pop. not as painful as lastnight, but still pretty bad. if i hold my hand in a hammer strength position, i can flex my bicep. if i turn my hand, its too painful to even try to flex.
i dont have insurance guys...there's no doctor for me. it was only 70 frikin pounds, so i have a had time believing its an age thing...but...i dont know wtf it is....
d...i dont notice any "deformation" of the bicep.
everlast...doing bio-flex...msm/glucosamin/cirrus...all in there. send me your secret rehab shyt, lol
i think i might just go too 2 a week legs...i've been ignoring them for a long time. then, i'll see what i can do for upper body and that and cardio. when i figure it out i'll post it up and see what you guys think.
meantime...i dont know what else i can do
              (and no...cant afford gh bro)

                Re: omg!!

Dave, a few years ago, I was pushing some heavy dumbells, my shoulder went 'POP' I got an MRI and went to the top rated surgeon in the stae. He looked at my MRI and said "Oh this is bad! You have to have this surgically repaired. Get the surgery scheduled ASAP!"...I was so depressed, I was nearly in tears. Im in a career that requires my body. Long story short, I NEVER had the surgery. My shoulder is about 95% healed. I took care of it and rehabed it myself. I couldnt push anything for about 6 months. All I did was pull. It didnt hurt to pull so all I did was deadlifts and pullups for 6 months. My recommendation to you is to find exercises that dont hurt at ALL. Then do nothing but those exercises for as long as you have to. If you keep pushing and doing exercises that hurt, it will never heal. Be patient bro. The power tha t made the body can heal the body. Load on antioxidants. Fish oil is #1. Turmeric. Glucosamine. Deep green drinks. Visualize yourself as healing. Good luck brutha. You will be fine.

                  Re: omg!!

I feel your pain Dave, The amount of warmup sets that I MUST do takes longer than my work sets these days. But must be done.
Working through pain is a very bad idea, which you probably already know but did it anyway. lol And machines are bad also for locking you into a certain range of motion which is bad for shoulders.
Like some others have said I think it's time for a change as far as lifting goes. We can't deny our age anymore. I can only lift heavy for short durations anymore. Things just start to hurt.

Anyway I hope it's nothing to serious Dave, Let it heal

ok...just non-hurting shyt...legs and, so far, back (pulling) although...we'll see how the pulling feels now that this happened

Yeah, I don't see you pulling much with that arm either.

MY TEAR WAS IN THE SUPRASPINATOUS...I pulled for 6 months and never lost anything in my antagonistic muscles. If I ever pushed anything during that time, it was excrutiating pain.. It takes patience, but it will pay off.
