  • Decided to join a gym

Well, after the past month or so of trying to get myself motivated to work out at home, I have decided to join a gym. My old workout partner (best workout partner I have ever had) joined the local gym and has been texting me trying to get me down there. He keeps me really motivated and I think this is the only way I will ever get back into training. So, I am going tomorrow to join up and I will probably sell my equipment as it will be enough to pay the gym fees for 2 years.

I hope this works out because I am so out of shape it is ridiculous!! I have gained so much weight (fat) and have lost any definition I have ever had.

Any suggestions to getting back in shape? Should I stick to straight protein and creatine or should I consider gear

get your diet hammered out then worry about hopping on...your wasting time and money if you try to do it any other way

Oh yeah, that will be a definite. With all of the crap I eat and don't work out, I am positive that getting my diet straight and working out regularly will show great results alone!! I eat straight junk all of the time right now and never exercise with the exception of golfing. I want to get back in shape and lean down as much as possible over the winter and maybe get into good shape before next spring. Then I will decide on the gear.

You will see gains very quickly as is anyway because you havent worked out in a while.

I hope so. I am going to start with protein and creatine too help speed up my results. I will for sure be taking it easy the first week or so. I also plan on doing a lot of cardio too. I need to drop some weight, seriously! I am 5'8" and I weigh about 180....and that is not muscle! I am sure my BF% is in the upper teens.

Well, tomorrow is going to be my first day! I am actually kind of excited about it...which is good. 3 days a week I will be getting there about an hour or more earlier than my workout partners, so that will be my cardio time. Hopefully I can lean down fairly quickly.

I had my first workout last night after a few years of layoff. We did chest and WOW have I gotten weak!! I am not a big guy but when I was working out, I got up to 225 I know! Last night (of course i was taking it a little easy) I could barely do 135!!! I knew I would be weak but man, that is crazy!

Re: Decided to join a gym

Thanks man! Tonight was my second night. So far so good. The guys I am working out with work one thing per night.

                      Chest
                      Arms
                      Shoulders
                      Back
                      Legs

I kind of like that because I am not at the gym all night that way.
