yeah i know, i just like to see how good/high/steady i can get it....being that i'm a dirty smoker and all. is there such a good thing as a 'fat burning' heart rate to stay at? like between 130 and 150 or something?

There is (in theory) a heart rate zone that will burn more fat than other "zones" it's different for each person bc of age and stuff. for you, you should worry about your cardio vascualr system and your lung capacity right now...YA DIRTY SMOKER!
I agree dont raise and lower the incline so much. If you cant do it, then dont and work your way up to a higher incline. When I 1st started this 3 weeks ago or so, I honestly couldnt do the incline much at all. My legs hurt and I started to get winded. Now I can go for 45-55 minutes at 20 incline going 3mph. Im going to drop my incline though to 10 I think. I do the target heart rate thing too, just type in a google search and you should find it. I think the fat burning zone is 65-75% of your max heart rate. Your max HR is 225- your age. So if Im correct mine is 225-25 thats 200.
if you can't last on the incline for long just interval it until you can. Going back and forth to build your stamina is fine, just keep increasing the amount of time you spend on ther incline. Or try to. Hell, i can't even last 6-8 minutes on an incline so drop down to flat, speed it up then when i feel ready go back up and slow it down...do what you can and always work towards doing more.
