Horrible left side hip,hig butt cheek deep inside pain

This pain I got last week stays right there in my side top left butt cheek deep inside. I know its a disk problem. I cant even bend over put on my shoes sit down stand up its been flaired up for a week now. Its getting better but holy fuk.Its like someone is stabbing me and the spasms just hit at any time and when they do it I grunt.My daughter m,makes fun of me because when I'm with her she hears me grunt when walking and thinks its funny

Have you try a tens unit on the sciatic nerve or piriformis muscle?
I have a similar pain on my right side. Tens unit and heat help.

I hit my sciatic nerve last year. The pain was BAD. I ended up going to the er after several days. The doc said it would have taken much longer to heal if I didn't come in. She put me on methocarbamol and a real strong anti inflammatory.

I occasionally get that kind of thing, too. Exactly the same kind of stabbing, grunting spasms. I have found that a good chiropractor who practices Active Release Techniques, which is a form of "soft tissue work" helps me immensely. A.R.T. has a website where you can plug in your location to find a provider. I have no association at all, just relaying that it's helped me. It isn't pleasant; if the guy is good, he digs deep and has you do movements which release the spasm. But it's effective.

I've also found that my hamstrings and glutes tend pull on my lower back and cause low back pain, sometimes to the level you describe. Careful stretching of the hams and glutes has been helpful to me also. Hard to do that when you are getting those stabbing pains, I know. But I start off easy and keep at it.

i have been trying to get him to do that for years now. the graston and art speed it up so much and make daily life so much more pleasant. not to mention more effective and pain free training

I get that too. stretch your hams and glutes gently several times a day and do the yoga pose cobra.

Its finally lossening up.Still not 100% but much better

I have compressed discs in that area along with a linear tear of my L5/S1. I was told a while back that my vertebrae in that area are beginning to touch and the more they touch/rub, they will begin to fuse. Not great...and at times the pain is debilitating, and put a ton of pressure on the nerves including the sciatic, but I find the more I stretch and go to chiro, the less pain I have. The worst pain generally occurs in the morning or when I haven’t been moving for a while. The back is a losing battle and only a matter of time before surgery becomes necessary.
