That was great! Arnold is right. But its to late to ever go back to the way it was. Its a freak show now and thats just not going to change. They have all natural bodybuilding shows, but nobody goes to them

Hopefully with the new classic physique category , a lot of these freaks will smarten up and try to be more Asthetic !!!
I mean , don't get me wrong , I love these mass monsters , but with all these bubble guts , they look like shit IMO .
I believe the classic physique category will be more popular than the freaks and it'll make it so these guys start to get more conditioned and appealing to look at , and change BBing for the future of the game .
Well that's what I hope happens !!!

Awesome awesome video torres i loved it! I agree with most of the guys, JAY is butt hurt over it because he has a bigger stomach. Its always been about asthetics IMO.

I agree. That v shape is what i have always strived to maintain. A guy on a body builder is not over all great physique IMHO.
THE guys in Arnold's day did have a different steucture or physique they displayed.

I agree wit Arnold on this and I think he knows better than anyone what bodybuilding is supposed to be about. Bodybuilding is a sport and it has Arnold to thank in large part for how much it has grown over the years. I think Arnold is looking at it as a competition sport, which is supposed to have criteria to be judged on for different categories. One of the bodybuilders in that video mentioned the three categories that were judged on when Arnold competed and that now there are no three categories, instead it is just judged on size. The sport completely changed its rules. Now think if other sports completely changed the rules on how you win. I think he means well but I doubt anything will change. You would think the bodybuilders would welcome such a change because it would be somewhat healthier on them since they wouldn't have to get as big. I did find it kind of funny that Jay Cutler disagreed. Of course he would, he is a 4 time Mr. O and also does not have the small midsection Arnold was talking about.

no that's plain wrong. rich piana is an idiot once again and is just running his freaking mouth like he always does. also keep in mind piana never turned pro. but here are the judging criteria that are looked at:
Judges will score competitors according to the NPC “total package” which is a balance of size, symmetry and muscularity. this is the same standards used to judge the ifbb because it is apart of the same organization. at the pro level, they are scored individually and as a group in prejudging and during the finals.
so someone saying their are no judging standards is a complete and utter fool. should the big guts that arent controlled be penalized? hell yeah they should but again if a competitor on stage has a bigger, better and more conditioned physique then he should win. funny thing is, i know a number of judges and one that is a top dog in another state. what they tell me that is the most common, is conditioning is what wins shows and not always the biggest dude on stage. so the guy with the best package that is conditioned is going to win 9 out of 10 times. they can also argue cedric blah blah blah, well i hate to say it but cedric never really comes in in shape. that's why he never gets the nod, not because he isnt a monster with a huge gut. come in in top tier conditioning and lose then you can cry about your placements

Don't worry I know what you meant. I haven't stayed up on the Mr. Os for a few years now other than reading the results every year to see how they placed, so I shouldn't have assumed Piana knew what he was talking about. I still think Arnold means well though and I get his point. I am still impressed with all of them and admire every one of them too but I do prefer the look that Arnold is referring to with the smaller midsection. My wife's nephew competes and has won a few competitions but he is only 220 off stage. I like watching those competitions though because they fit that look more. But even though he looks as good as the bigger guys he knows he has to gain a lot more weight to ever have a chance at the big time, and then I am guessing he wouldn't have that small mid section.

the point you fellas are missing here isnt the fact that these guys are winning because they are monsters, they are winning because they are the best most conditioned athletes on stage on that given day. both the people listed have never nailed the conditioning aspect of the competing. i can name off a ton of guys that have awesome physiques that could dominate the sport yet they never get that nasty peeled conditioning so they never really place well.
if you go to a big non national level and even sometimes national level npc show, the guys that win the overalls most of the time are usually middle weights and lt heavies. why is that? because they are normally around 5 5 to 5 8 and the top of their weight classes in nasty nasty ripped conditioning. so they look freaking massive and peeled both. that's why us super heavies and heavies call them giant killers because they bring both size and conditioning that is usually untouchable. i have won a number of shows in my career and dont have a huge gut as a super but these guys normally have a much more complete package.
so at the end of the day in all honesty, it is the guy with the best over all complete package that is the most conditioned that wins. that's the extent of the placings. and if you think that dex ced or shawn rhonen are small dudes you are crazy. they are also massive freaking dudes. and like already stated cedric could be a dominating force except for the fact that he never shows up in shape and is notorious for missing deadlines and meetings
