Ya, if youre going to compete, you gotta practice posing. I watched a lot of posing videos in the day, but the best video by far was the Russ Testo video. I dont know what is out there now.
Practice these mandatory poses-side tricep, side chest/bicep, back and front double bicep, hands over head abdominal, most muscular and front lat spread..I think thats it, I might have forgotten one... If you dont want to work up a fancy routine, just throw the mandatory poses into a one minute posing routine. I used to spend hours worrying about making my posing routine perfect. Then I realize the judges barely even pay attention to the routine, thats when I stopped practicing my posing routine and just started stringing my mandatories together to make an easy posing routine.
front relaxed
right side relaxed
back relaxed
left side relaxed

front lat spread

just like dzone said the routine isnt scored at all. you are scored on the above poses at morning prejudging and if you make it to the overalls at the finals. best guidance i can give you is to find a local coach if you can. if not bodybuilding.com has some ok videos where you can learn them, then watch some pro shows and npc shows. this will help you see some nice little tweaks you can do to flaunt your strengths and hide your weaknesses a little bit. someone local that knows what they are doing and can be hands on is invaluable to have. also once you practice in the mirror for a while dont use the mirror any more(you wont have a mirror to look into on stage wink wink)
Good advice above. Also some gyms have posing coaches you can hire. I have never competed and probably never will but a good friend of mine said that hiring a coach was the best thing he could have done. Its one thing to watch a video its another to have someone watching you as you work through your poses.

like i already mentioned having someone local is best but if you go to flexonline.com, lee labrada is running a posing video series right now. i watched a couple of them and it is actually a pretty good series and should help out a lot
