  • HRT/TRT Help

    Hello guys,
I know some of you may have answered these questions before so please accept my apology for not going through hundreds of posts to find the answers I am looking for.
First I am on HRT and have been for the last 2 + years straight. My levels were low so an endocrenologist recommend that I get on test but the dosage recommended was so low
I felt it didn't benefit me at all, so I have used additional Test from other sources and have felt pretty good. Question is: How long is too long to stay on? What are the potential risks of long-term use, and what your thoughts on how much time you should wait in between cycles?
I am 41 years old and was using strictly test cyp at 250-400 mgs every 7-10 days. I could really use some good advice at this point on what to do.
Again I am sure this question has been asked but I didn't see exactly what I was looking for in the previous posts.
    Thanks

man most endo will do between 1-250 to get you into range. now with that said depending on the endo some treat numbers and some treat symptoms. so since you can stay on hrt for life i would never come off the test unless you start having issues with rbc hemocrit or any of the other markers that we watch. as long as they are in range then no need to come off completely at your age. as for dosing i would probably stay in that 2-250 range at most for long duration and if you are going to blast it up higher then only do so for a couple months at a time and then come back down to that low 1-250 range for a few months. i am no doc but that's the approach that the majority of us aging guys use.

^^^^ What guns said. Standard TRT IMO is 100-200mg of test a week divided into 2-3 small shots to keep blood levels stable. You don't come off it is for life, unless you encounter one of the health issues Guns mentioned. Some add HCG to boost test levels further as well as keeping your testes functioning and full. I would get bloodwork done every 6 months to get things like E2, HDL, LDL, RBC, etc. checked.

Thats about what I am on. I will shift between cyp and enanthate every few months. The longest Ive ever been off is about 6 weeks. In how many years? Hell I forgot after 10 lol
Ive not had any problems with this schedule

250 would be higher than any TRT dose prescribed by a doc i have ever heard. I am sure there are fellas who get it but I am half that. 400mg wk is a cycle.

Now I get where you are coming from. does not feel like you want it to feel so you up the dose to MANY the times the natural level and feel good. but that is not TRT.

I just feel OK at 125 mg wk. took a while but doc has me dialed in at 700-800 ng/dl depending on when I am tested. I only get levels checked 1X a year now.

anyway for a guy in his early 40s average is mid 300s.

as for long term I am sure TRT levels are fine long term. I have no idea for double or triple or more. Once or twice a year I come off for 6 weeks and do PCT. when I go back on I have banked 6 wks worth of cyp and I feel great on my TRT level.

try coming off for 2-3 months (i know it is a bear and sucks) when you get back on you will feel like superman even on the dose prescribed

I hrt at 400. I have for years. My bloods are perfect for a 25 year old and I'm almost 40. I've been cycling since 23. On without a break for more than 4 weeks here and there for past 7-8 and haven't been off totally for about 3 straight now on solid. I add in something for joint a Couple months here and there and I blast and occasionally drop down to 250 for a few weeks here and there. You've got to keep the body guessing but not in a massive up and down.

My opinion HRT is the wrong term and TRT is more descriptive even though many think the terms are synonymous. I believe it is more important to have a level delivery system for TRT. I personal cruise on a range of 250 to 350 a week. Many people have a problem taking multiple inject so they shove 250 of cyp in their ass once a week. In my experience this is not best way to keep a consistent level on test in you system. It works much better if you take an injection everyday at the same time of day ( Right after I get done shaving and shitting). all ester have a peak when the test is released in to you system. Just like when you where a young man you want a steady release of test entering you blood stream everyday. Whatever ester you use I believe 35 to 50 mgs everyday will get you a level test delivery which will brings you back to when you were 35 years old. Use your blood test from the doctor to monitor you level and adjust accordingly.

30 years old in excellent shape with test levels at 268. Doc says I'm perfectly healthy. I feel not so much. Thinking of going back to some self trt.

that's a prime example of a piss poor doc treating numbers and not symptoms. i bet if it was pain meds or some bs new drug they are pushing they would hook you right up

I just went to the Dr. to review my blood. I think it is very important that everyone tell their Dr. what they are doing with TRT and use the blood test for your own information.

Doctor shop. You will find one who say you are below the 300 minimum and give you TRT. Try a Urologist, they can prescribe test and they are more helpful than endos are.
