    While I agree that cardio is good for health, my cholestorol actually went down when I went low carb. I ate meat, eggs and cheese and lowered both my blood pressure and cholestorol.

      Mine also went down on a low carb diet. Some people eat a low carb diet and eat bad steak, hamburg, bacon and cheese thinking since they are getting all protein they will lose weight. That is true to a point but their cholestorol will suffer.

        Agreed. A good friend of mine went on the eggs, bacon and cheese version of the low carb diet and has plateaued after losing about 15 pounds. It's all about moderation, patients and knowing what's in the food you eat. If you're given the choice between bacon and chicken breast, chicken is the obvious winner.

          Yeah, I think that's the problem some people have with those diets; they eat lots of protein with tons of sat. fat instead of eatiing healthy proteins.
