weight gain with no cheating or deviation is the time to say what you said. back to the old drawing board, fix what is broken and then go back at it again when healthy. you def have a good one if you guys tried multiple adaptations and it was still failing. an idea i just had that you may run by them is this: start with your maint cals plus it up 15% for two days, then 5% above for 2 and then maint for two then back up to 15. that may be a good starting point for jump starting your metabolism but not so much of a cal surplus to cause any significant fat or water gains. you got my hamster running when i read your reply, so just bear with me haha. you may already be doing something similar and i am just thinking out loud

          Re: Opinions please!!!

Learned this via Dan Duchaine First thing in the morning before getting out of bed, take your morning temperature. Morning temperature is a good indication of metabolic rate and thyroid function. If it is below 97.8 weight loss will be very slow going and is a good indication of hypothyroid. I got this from his book Underground Bodyopus. Personally if her temperature is running slow she may want to head to the doctor for some blood work and get her thyroid and other hormones checked. Hormones affect metabolic rate and she be out of whack. I had the same issue and it wasn't until I corrected my adrenal issue and thyroid issue that I was able to start leaning up again. Good luck. Have her adrenals checked as well via a 24 hour saliva test (most docs don't have any clue about this) but it is the best way to determine an adrenal issue in my opinion. Cost around 100 to 200 dollars. Again good luck.
