i could definitely be wrong because i don't follow cycling that well but the comparison for me is that anderson was the sport's hero, a true great, one of the best ever, an inspiration who could overcome any odds. as said better than me by a fan from an mma site:
The thing that makes this different though is who anderson is. Hes our GOAT, our jordan, our ali, our unitas. He’s the greatest ever who defined what mma can be and changed the image in alot of ways from the perception of what mma fighters were. He showed insane athleticism, mind blowing reflexes and between him and gsp they moved to a next level of athleticism and performance across the sport from the days of chuck randy and tito. Anderson brought the same raw and brutal violence that had categorized the sport since the early days and that chuck and wandy in particular emphasized, but he did it in a new way, it was flashier, cleaner, and more awe inspiring.
To me the 4 contending GOATs of this sport gsp, fedor, anderson and jones are held to a higher standard of PED judgement in my eyes and any positive tests from them have a much larger and much more profound impact then another belfort positive test would. the legacy of our greatest has been irrevocably ruined cause of this and an asterisk has been thrown on his career. that just really really sucks.

Thanks for the post...but honestly so what!!! Dana let Jon Jones fight after testing positive for cocaine, because they don't want to lose $$$, then he goes into rehab for 1 day and he has a miraculous recovery!!! This shit is so subjective now, and it is all about greed and bullshit!!! I am almost done with the UFC to be honest...Dana = McMahon...it has gotten ridiculous!!!Comment
