I've found that certain muscles have "sweet" spots, in other words a place that has much less pip. For example, on my glutes, if i go too low or too much in the middle the pip is way worse. If i go as high to the hip as possible and lateral as possible the pip is less. It's trial and error but if your pinning eod you'll figure it out quickly. I think it has to do with how many nerve endings are at that site. When I start pushing the oil in I can tell right away if I'm near a nerve as I can feel the oil go in and pip is sure to follow. I'll actually pull out and move over a half inch. Once you've considered the obvious things like BA content and mg/ml concentration this could help.
