powerlifting is good.. but i dont like their tight squat pants... they look kinda gay... and the bench shirts it does help ALOT...
i do pl routine some times also ... really gave me good gains in strength and size how many people do u know who can squat 2x their bw for 20 reps and dont have big arms?

Some people power lift because that is the lifts for their sports. When playing football and wanting to compete at the top level how can somebody not do cleans, squats, and dead lifts? Its a must! You look at some of the best football players they dont have the fat baster bodies?life is _____?
life is hitting a guy so hard that he forgets his own name and remembers yours forever!
FOOTBALL IS LIFE SO LIVE IT UP!

Powerlifting and bodybuilding really go hand in hand. There is nothing better then a good power routine inbetween cycles. It allows us to keep gaining and or maintaining size and strength.
BB won't add much size unless they do heavy powerlifting lifts, once the size is obtained, other excerises help define and sculpt the muscle.
A good cycle for a powerlifting that isn't worried about going out of his weight class would incorporate decca (puts fluid into the joints which helps with the really heavy lifts) lots of test (nothing builds muscle like test) and a good oral dbol, or abombs. Naturally eating is everything or you won't gain a thing.
I've noticed that powerlifters always have large biceps and chances are they don't curl or only do so every other week.

Well I think it is wich side of the fence that you stand on for many powerlifters say bodybuilders are all show no go but watch ronnie colmans video and he is 5 weeks out of the olimpia doing 805 lbs deads for 2 reps. On the other hand their is a power lifter in my gym who only does big lifts deads, cleans , power snatch, bench ect and he has a amazing body that most of the guy on this board would kill for (I know i would) he has huge arms and he only does them once every 2 weeks.

yea but would you f'k with him, didn't think so. I consider myself to be more of a P-lifter than anything else, but my genetics make me look lean at the same time. For my size and height, pound for pound, I'm alot stronger than most guys in the gym, you say strength(you misspelled it too) is stupid? WTF ever, that's like if I said BB is stupid. That's just not mature for you or anyone to say IMO.

i really dont think im being immature at all....stupid was probably an overstatement..i specified that i didnt understand the point of training just for strength.....just my opinion......"pound for pound, I'm alot stronger than most guys in the gym" also....but thats far from my main goal....i do whatever weight is gonna really push me to absolute failure..for me that usually takes high reps..low reps and heavy weight doesnt get blood rushing to my muscles the way higher reps do....i guess we just have different goals...different training styles....i also don't train for size....i go for hardness and leaness...so we're on entirely different terms.....oh and i can spell....actually corrected myself in a reply when i realized my mistake....sorry i dont proof read my fitness gear posts...feel like im in school.........lol

We all have our own motivations and goals to train for. at age 50, mine have changed from lookin good to powerlifting to health to body building competition. I respect anyone with the gumption to come in and give it their best shot, regardless fo what their goal or routine is. i guess i'll always like to grab some heavy ass weight. i love to get dizzy, hear train whistles, and see those spots in front of my eyes.......There is no substitute for experience......

At my gym, once in a blue Moon, those motivational strength guys or whatever that put on shows for HS students and church groups, the Power Team or something, has this one guy who comes in, hes a big dude, not cut or anything, but he reps out over 600 on bench, i mean reps out. Everyone stops and watch. Whens the last time a whole gym stopped to watch a cut 230 lb guy doing curls?
