IMO, in sports it is cheating if you are using them to gain an advantage over fellow athletes.
HRT is cool if you are in medical need.
In life, I would say no. If they make people feel better about themselves and improves their self confidence, that is great.
Take into consideration my opinion comes from someone that doesn't use them

i think because the final product is what the PAYING fans want, then taking gear isn't cheating....it makes the athletes richer and brings in more fans.......the only people that think it's cheating are those who didn't make their varsity teams and are still holding onto something to blame for their lack of abililty.....those who don't juice are cheating....they're cheating the fans (who pay their checks)

I would much rather see a player hit 500 homeruns naturally than someone hit 500 on gear. Just like i would rather see fighters fight in their true weight classes rather than cutting 30lbs to fight a smaller guy. In my experience with fans, when someone does this naturally, the fans go nuts. When the person is on gear, they are like.."he was on gear, it don't mean as much."
And I played varsity sports...lol

And I just want to throw out there that I have nothing against gear or anyone that takes it. I am speaking from a rules, sports, and competition stand point only. I really hope my comments don't offend anyone or make them think I am against what they do for any reason

I tend to lean this way on this issue as well...how do you tell someone who stands to make Millions of dollars over a very short career to stay off juicing?????Youre chances are about 1 in a million of ever even making it
Maybe this is a question for people to ponder: Lets say you have a shot at making in in the NFL. You have a shot at making $40 Million in your career if you make it . You know everyone else is juicing. You know you wont get caught. You know that if you juice, you have a better chance at getting that $40 million. Are you saying you will NOT juice and maybe not make it and instead take a job for $50,000 a year working like a dog because you refused to juice???? You have to think about your family too. You could make enough in 2 years to never have to work another day in your life, take care of your kids and grandkids for life, but youre not going to take any PEDs?...OK...
what percentage of linemen in th e NFL are juicing? So does that mean they are ALL cheaters? Is it cheating that EVERY person competing fo r Mr Olympia is on steroids?

You tell them they will be fired, fined, and never be in the sport again if they get on. These slap on the wrists are why everyone continues to misuse it.

That is a tough situation. "How do you know you won't get caught and completely lose everything?" Then what? Your name is tarnished as well as having no job. I don't know about that unless I have been put in that situation.
So you are saying that robbing banks is okay just because everyone is doing it and not getting caught?
steroids made baseball better imo, might be politically incorrect but I loved seeing the 500ft homers. It aint cheating if everyone is using them.
See I see it a little differently. I think they ruined it. When I was a kid I loved see the homers. I followed baseball forever (until the strike anyway). Then you have McGwire, Sosa, etc...that are doing all these amazing things and I am thinking man baseball has come a long way. These guys are really getting good. Then the steroid scandal comes out and it immediately diminished everything they had done in my eyes. It's like it didn't even happen. Their records and what not were now and will forever be tarnished.

i dont agree its cheating in sports or any other thing...you can wear a sealskin suit to swim in but no winny? they make shoes that grip the dirt better so you can run the bases faster, but no aas? you can have eye surgery to see futher down the fairway, but dont do steroids? i find it all very hypocritical! everyone shoudl have the opurtunity to train how they want to try to excel the most in their chosen sport. whatever that may intail!! steroids, hyperbolic chambers, special suits, shoes, training techniques...it should all be on the table!!
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!

All those things you mentioned can be bought by young kids. Should young kids be able to do AAS? I mean if it's all on the table...it's got to be on the table for everyone right? Out of the sealskin suit, the shoes, the eye surgery, and AAS...which has the higher risk in medical terms? Which of these potentially have the higher long term risks? If AAS were allowed, it would come down more to who has the most money than ever before. You take a kid from the dumps that is one of the most naturally gifted athletes in your area but can barely afford to buy the equipment to play the sport is good in. Then you take a rich kid with less of the athletic gift BUT has endless amounts of money to spend on AAS. Why should the kid with all the money have the opportunity to take a position away (or future) from a kid that just has the natural ability? How is that fair?

Your comments are very well put, I cant imagine anyone taking offense
I think AAS is more widespread than people think for one. Number two- test or HGH aint going to turn the average Joe to Tom Brady so I think the effects are way over exaggerated. Mostly due to lack of education and too much myths and media hype. Any one can do it, so I dont see it as cheating. Yesterday, we talked of the sport of MMA- which although a sport - I consider fighting a different matter- anything goes in survival if you ask me
