Re: HOW MANY TIMES CAN PRESS

never really attempted this at the front of a workout...I have done it at the tail end of a bench workouts and have no problem scoring 20 plus reps...I've have however done 275 fairly recently for 22 reps.

Guys also on this movement if taking it from an NFL combine type press form is not looked at and isn't judged. So if you have some meat head football player telling you he can press 225 for 30 reps and you've only done it for 12 don't feel bad at all. The form is done so sloppy...

Re: HOW MANY TIMES CAN PRESS

Really depends on the person. I know some that can bench it prolly 30 times and some that weigh the same that can bench it maybe 4.

Re: HOW MANY TIMES CAN PRESS

A couple years ago I id it for 18 reps, wih a max bench at that time of 340. That was my strongest days by the way. After this last back surgery I don't know if I will ever hit that again.

Re: HOW MANY TIMES CAN PRESS

The most reps @225 was 26. Can't say the form was the best for the last 4-5 reps. But I got it.

Being that I've warmed up @270, I'd say that I should at least be able to hit 20-25 reps @225. But I've never really tried it, as yet.

Geez, you guys are animals. Right now, probably 10-12. As i've become older, 44 now, i moved away from heavy weights and focused on more reps due to possible injuries etc. Tell you, i really don't miss the heavy weight. I keep my weight between 210 and 220 and am much leaner.

Same here, bro. At 48 and after 4 knee surgeries, I'd gone from powerlifting to bodybuilding training. For about a year, I was hitting reps of 12 to 15 with light weights. But a few weeks ago, a friend and fitness competitor at the gym suggested to me to hit the weights hard and heavy in order to tighten my skin after a massive weight loss. To my surprise, I hadn't lost much strength once I began hitting the heavy weights again.
