Re: Let's discuss an abscess
I have had a small, maybe a bit bigger than golf ball sized lump, that was reddish, feverish, and sore just under my delt. It was just under the injection site. I just gave it like 4-5 days, and it started to ease up. I used the 3 day rule. If it doesn't begin to show signs of healing by the 3rd day, then it probably needs medical attention. Mine did get a little better, and then rapidly went away in like 3 days after almost a week. (by day 5-6). You wanna hold off on antibiotics as a last resort. Antibiotics only work well once a year. But I would say a bad abcess is worthy.
A litttle red, sore and puffy. I wouldn't go dialing 911. If it isn't better after about 5 days, and of course, if it just keeps getting worse, then I might be in a doc's office.
Keep it clean guys. clean clean clean. Alcohol the rubber stopper before you draw. Switch tips before you shoot. Alcohol the site of injection just before you shoot, but let it dry some. Never re-use anything! I had a friend doing this with a tip that he used to draw with. He called me with an abcess. I had to play 20 questions to get to the re-using the tip to draw with part. He said, "but I clean it everytime." dumb ass. That was his problem, of course. His abcess healed up on it's own, and his was bad. He said it was like a baseball, and red, hot, etc...
