Didn't you just start back? If so, it doesn't matter if you are on or not, the muscle is not used to being torn down anymore so it's going to hurt worse now than it did.
Me personally, I tend to be MORE sore while on because I'm always going upin weight and they extra resistance causes more tissue breakdown than normal. So, it's like I'm sore after most workouts. I also tend to go harder while on so I end up tearing down more tissue. Now, as for recovery, I don't think it's any different for me. Since I go harder and do a little more, the 'overall' recovery time stays about the same for me. When on, I do more with more intensity, when off, I cut back and I find the recovery time is about the same. But, if I'm on and I don't step up the intensity, then I don't get anywhere. This is why I keep a workout journal. I make myself go up in reps or weight every single workout. If not, I make a note of it. If I get to where none of my lifts go up, then I immediately take a week off. Or, if I find that everything is goingup except chest, then I back off on chest for a couple weeks to let it recover. Yeah, I went further than you were looking for but it's all relevant. LOL
damn, this is what i get for tryin to get this forum moving some...damn
Sorry bro, but there's no Maturity Test for those who sign up. You would think someone would say something constructive or just keep their mouth shut, but what can you do? It was obvious to me that this was a serious question by you, but some people just don't get it.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.
