    Re: Teenage steroid use?

I don't know, I have a 'my house, my rules' attitude in my house. Of course, my son is only tunring 4 this month so I have a while before these types of talks take place. I do think I would respect his privacy but at the same time, I pay for that room and he sleeps in it, so technically, it's my room and he uses it. It's a tough subject. Being a person who had more than his fair share of trouble with the law, I don't think I would just sit by if knew for sure my son was doing something illegal. I would intervene to some degree. That's just good parenting, in my opinion.
I used to have superhuman powers....until my therapist took them away.

[The "nice" approach at that point would be to talk to him about proper PCT for this time, and how the risks of bone closure stopping his growth will limit his future athletic efforts.[/QUOTE]

I had a lot of friends in HS who took steiroids. At that age I think it is so obvious because of the amount of growth which happens almost overnite it seems. I could always tell within the first few weeks if someone was juicing or not. Anyway, I also had one of my best friends who was just naturally big get accused of using by his mom and then had to pass a test to prove that he wasn't. That sucked for him, but I don't think it bothered him for very long. I guess just get your kid to take a test, if he is positive, good for you, you did the right thing,... If he is negative, good for you, your kid is a freak, get him in the gym, put some football pads on him and watch proudly from the stands as your monster kid is smashing the crap out of everyone else.

Amen. Kids need parents, they have enough friends.

if it where me I would just talk to him and don't beat around the bush. id say, son, im concern that you may be doing steroids, and explain why at his age it would be a problem.
