The only way is to just talk to the kid about it without accusing him. Then tell him that if a son is doing something like that he should tell his parents and not feel uncomfortable with it. Certainly don't wait till he starts showing signs.

Thats a tough one as a teenagers the father is always going to be the bad guy (I am sure some of you guys remember that age) If you have a chance look through his room and talk with him about it. He is way to young and his hormones are already very unstable at that age. With the use it could really throw him and everything else out of wack.

I am only 20 and have never asked anyone to buy me steriods or even really mentioned wanting to some, and I think I have had around 10 different people offer them to me saying they can get them, so it's pretty easy for someone around his age to fine a dealer just through school probobly.

Also, I think its better to loose a little trust in exchange for making sure hes healthy and not screwing himself up with steroids at an early age like that... just my 2 cents.

It is a touchy situation. I guess you should closely monitor his behavior to see if you notice anything different from the norm. Is his temper shorter? I he "more agressive?" Does he have increased acne or oily skin? Is he a lot more muscular than a few months ago (in conjunction with lifting regularly)?

None of these things, by themselves, indicate steroid use. But if he shows more than one or two, you may have been right to question him. Lastly, nothing is better than a good talk with his father. He may not give an inch, but it is important to have that discussion. Let him know its ok to tell you about anything, and of course warn him of the dangers of AAS use for teens.

Then there is always snooping . . .

Id rip his room apart while hes at school if hes on hes probably hiding it in a stupid place in his room, and you could putit back perfect hed never know. And about him being able to get it anyone can get juice now its just to easy to get with the millions of UGLs out there somethings got to be done about that soon or else the goverment will have everything shut down.

He has to throw away the syrines and vials so I would check the trash after he throws it out. That's how I got caught in HS. Of course, he could just be on tabs and he's probably got them hid pretty good. What makes your friend suspect it? If it's just attitude, well that's par for the course, as you know. But, if he's getting big really quick, them maybe. But not all kids who gain muscle quickly are on aas. Some people do have superior genetics and when those people pick up a weight in HS they just grow like crazy. I knew guys who lifted totally natural in HS and they grew faster than the rest of us. It's like running speed, some guys are just going to be able to run circles around others but it doesn't mean they are cheating. At least, not all of them.

15 yrs old is way to young...def sit down and talk with him and dont blow up on him.just talk to him,cuz if ya blam or start yelling and shit like that all he's gonna do is rebel against ya.....just explain to him....kids can be tricky and ya just gotta take it easy with them till its time to not take it easy....

high school is very easy to pick up sauce. Your friend should try asking a few questions, maybe a joke or two and guage the response from his kid.

*taking a look in the kids room is wise but just remember that if you find somehting the kid is going to focus on his violation of privacy and progress will end there conversationally.

*my suggestion is that if a search of the room is done and something found then he should leave it, use his confirmation of the useage to begin conversating.

*this is all touchy ground and bottom line is your friend is facing the "bad guy" dilema either which way he turns. bottom line is he needs to take action for his son's protection.

and yes its way too young.

There are saliva based test strips. If the kid chews gum, or something like that, there you go. Keep in mind that at his age his levels will be elevated anyway, but if he is also juicing, they should be off the chart. Also, if he is on, he will start putting on a lot of mass in a hurry. The "nice" approach at that point would be to talk to him about proper PCT for this time, and how the risks of bone closure stopping his growth will limit his future athletic efforts.
