im just wondering how heavy you guys go when doing uprights. i can do a 35 on each side with perfect form, but when i jump up to a 45 i kinda have to cheat.. basically my question is, is this a movement where you need to go heavy to get the results? i tend to think so. its killer for the lateral delts.

I feel uprights are most effective for me when I use a moderately heavy weight(8 reps to fail) and I go moderately fast, not giving my body a chance to hold any one postion.x|Fluid|x is presenting REAL opinions and DOES encourage and condone the use of steroids or other illegal/legal substances that may be used in an illegal manner.

Always maintaining proper form, will reduce your chances of injury.
I definetly agree with Blm though, Uprights will swell your shoulders up.........................They feel great too........skipdigler@cyber-rights.net

If I use a straight bar a use straps to help me hold on to the bar. My wrists hurt if I don't. I usually use the E-Z Curl bar inside grip though, between (80lbs and 110lbs).
On a side note I heard that doing wide grip upright rows was really bad for your shoulders, is this true?
