  • Double Days While On??

    I was just curious as to if doing lets say 2-3 double days a week and takin off 2 days out of the week (so basically working out mon-fri, hitting 3 muscle 2x a wk)
    would be overtraining even while "on"? I was just curious as i am going to be starting a cycle soon and was thinkin of rotating body parts a week so that i could hit 3 body parts twice a week. i was just thinking that if you try to work the routine so that you can give the muscle atleast a good amount of rest would that keep you out of overtraining? thanks for the input.

    are you trying to do a routine out of flex? this is just crazy, if you can't get enough intensity in the gym one time a day you need to re-think your game plan

      no.. i did this a few times when i was on a deca only cycle and that was the first time for me when i actually had decent size arms and chest.. as those body parts i have to hit 2 times a week.. i would rotate my back/shoulder/legs so that they would get hit 2x a wk every 3rd wk.. and doing that routine i was actually the biggest i ever have been.. i only did it for like 4 wks because i was getting too tired but was actually growing..

            bad idea. only time i could see being in the gym twice a day would be one session for training, and one session for cardio. there's no way i could/would train twice a day.

              I agree with the others. I don't think I could train 2x/day even if I wanted to. I'd be so exhausted from the initial workout, I'd have nothing left for the second go round. Plus, with work and a busy schedule, it'd be impossible anyway.

              The only thing that changes for me while on, is that I tend to increase my volume by about 20% overall.

                I double dayed it on my last cycle...a 6.am workout then home to eat/shower sleep for 3 hrs...

                Then another workout at 7 pm...just to go home and eat/ sleep again.


                I did a major muscle group in the am and then the supporting groups later in the evening.

                For example:

                A.M- Chest- abs- calves

                P.M. Tri's- delts ( not rear delts) abs


                day 2

                A.M. deadlifts- lat pulls- abs

                PM. Shrugs- rear delts- hyperextensions


                Day 3-

                A.M- Squats- leg press/ hack squats- calves


                pm- sld's- leg extensions- leg curls


                it worked for me...I just made sure i slept between workouts, had 6hrs between them and had 2 full meals between them.

                    so i take it you were just working out 3 days a week or what? also what kind of cycle were you on.. when i was on deca @450/wk i would still work out 5 days a week but 2 or 3 days of that week i would be doing double days kind of like how you had your split.. i would make sure i would eat atleast 2 whole meals and 3 good sourced protein/carb drinks with some pre-workout stimulants and had good success? just curious as to how you did it
