Oh, please don't get me started on this one. I didn't realize this thread was going to became a pamphlet for a personal trainer.

Newgirl, have you ever heard about real jobs that involve sacrifice, responsibility, extreme stress or extreme skills such as nurse, surgeon, policeman, fireman, soldier, etc, etc?

Yeah, I know being a fashion model or an actress is a very hard job too because you have to wake up many times in the morning for a photo shoot and you always have to look good...

Phabio -- I do have a real job with real responsbilities. ANY job that requires you to deal with the emotional and physical demands of a person and their ego is tough.

And yes, if you ask me, SOLDIERS, LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, and the like are undervalued and underpaid. Yet seemingly Americans, can belly up to the bar to pay our athletes a MINT and these athletes or actors/actresses refuse to accept the responsbility of role models to our youth. No one has a fan club for the scientists in this world, who day in and day out, work to find cures for the diseases that ravage children, for the families that lose their young mothers to ovarian, uterine or breast cancer.

Lighten up bro. It is a tough job.....but for some reason you have decided to attack my opinion and assume that I have little or no respect for the specialities you mention. Don;t assume what I am thinking or what I do for a living....nor what those in my family contribute in their line of work.

We were talking about personal training...and the complexitiies involved in that.

If you wish to start a thread about humanantarism, be my guest. I would not be surprised that you and I agree on more of that...no need to cyber slap here.

              Sorry guys - I am a schizofrenic.

That's why I had to hire two personal trainers, two personal shoppers and two personal assistants.

One side of me is trying to be nice and agree on everything that is written on this board, but another has its own point of view and distance to everything...

While I agree with you about this thread not being about bashing personal trainers I also have to agree with what Phabio has said as I say the same things actually. It's like any profession. There are people good at what they do and others that aren't. The ones that are good will get recognized after time when people see that they do in fact walk the walk and know enough overall talk as well. I for one am a very well respected trainer and also consistently in the top 3 for overall sales every month out of 10 trainers in my gym. I know my shit and I look the part as well. Plus I'm such a charming mofo and a good overall guy to be around that you can't deny me.

It takes alot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there's no real security in what's no longer meaningful. There's more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life and in change there is power......

"Fuck what everyone else thinks. Follow your own way and only then will you have the potential to lead to greatness......"

this is not about disagreeing or agreeing with opinions. This thread was about advice on being a good PT and you went on the thread bashing PT's which is fine since I think a lot of them suck, but try to contribute to the topic. People ask me how to become a PT all the time and I tell them the basic steps to get their foot on the door. Working on their trade and looking the part is up to them.

My additions to the thread were steps on how to become a personal trainer. Not on how to be a good one. Some people do not have that potential and I do not have the tools to help them.

                        Lewd,

You talked about good aspects of personal trainers - I talked about bad sides of them, just like with AAS!

I believe we both had valid points and both contributed to this thread by complementing each other.

Who knows, maybe in another thread I will became a good cop and you will play a bad one?
